Fun #astronomy fact I just noticed: the constellation #Ophiuchus, the "snake bearer", is named al-Hawwa (حواء) in Arabic, which is derived from (and the Arabic form of) the Hebrew proper name Heva (חוה), i.e. Eve, who, well, has a certain connection to snakes.
This appears to be a case where a loanword was adopted specifically to take advantage of a metonymic semantic shift. #mythology#language
