Speaking of mosquitoes, over the past 5-10 years, the zebra mosquitoes of West Nile Virus fame have crowded out all the “native?” Mosquitoes in the Atlanta area.

@jerry The backyard has been essentially uninhabitable for the past two summers because of those little monsters. Sprays, traps, clearing underbrush, ensuring there's no standing water, etc... Nothing helps

@jerry yeah, it's been that way in the DC area for most of this century. West Nile Virus is going to have to wait in line because malaria is making a comeback in the DC region.
