On Monday my partner and I had to put down our dearest Luna. She was an 11.5yo lab and beagle mix that had been diagnosed with cancer, hemangiosarcoma, in May after her spleen burst and a splenectomy in late April. This is my first weekend without her, in an empty house (my partner is working). It's really tough. All those small sounds you may not otherwise notice are gone; no more tapping claws on the hardwood, no more collar jingle as they move, etc. She is sorely missed.
