Back then, when you wanted some new games you could: buy them (over expensive) trade some on cassette tapes at the schoolyard Go to the library, grab some source code books, have fun programming them Wrote my own text-adventure when I was 10, since then I came across Basic, Turbo Pascal, JS, Java, AS, Lua, Python, C++, maybe some more 😵💫

edent, 1 year ago in What are your thoughts on Visual Programming languages? I loved teaching Scratch. And I’ve written about DRAKON - shkspr.mobi/…/why-arent-there-more-visual-program… I think they’re useful for building algorithms. But the tools themselves aren’t powerful enough for anything too complicated. I hope that changes though!
