kas,

… and we're in business! 🤸

Two years ago I sowed some seeds from Ivy Broomrape (Orobanche hederae) on a public space with a lot of Common Ivy. Usually they only take one year from sowing to blooming, but I didn't see any last year so I thought none of the seeds had found a host. Then today as I was passing by I noticed not one, but five withered and dry inflorescences, so it seems my guerilla gardening was successful after all. 🙌

@kas @plants Does it help control the ivy? I'm in the USA where common "English" ivy is invasive... it looks like someone did some guerilla gardening... according to Wikipedia:
"In the US, the only place it has been observed is in a patch of ivy at the University of California, Berkeley. It is speculated that a botany student purposely planted it there since ivy is very invasive in California"
