A Taoist will look at their life and say, "My existence IS my purpose." Yes & so will a Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim & a Jew.
IF..they follow the teachings of their ancestors before the birth Christ & near the time of Buddha.
Yogi Patanjali, in his book of Yoga Aphorisms explains it simply:
"The Soul does not love It is Love Itself.
It does not exist, It is Existence Itself.
It does not know, it is Knowledge Itself.
How to know God".
