Hello! I’m looking for a calendar app for my android device to display the current week of the calendar, with all events and tasks at the right hour. I’d use it for my university schedule. I found on F-droid some apps like this and this, but none of them provided a homescreen widget. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!...
What hardware would you recommend for AP’s and dedicated Firewalls? I really value open-source so bonus points if it works without blobs or the hardware is open or has available schematics....
I would like for app search to start right as I enter the app drawer and I want the app to start as enough chars are typed to match the app without additional clicks. I’m aware of 0launcher, kiss, and other launchers doing this (I believe I tried all the launchers available on f-droid) but I want to stay with trebuchet style...
Any recommendations for a splitwise equivalent for android? An initial search on fdroid only shows apps last updated in 2019. “Split it easy” lacks the ability to split bills paid by multiple people. I also liked the ability to use foreign currency in splitwise.
Hi, I have an AI backend ready to go, so I’m looking for an Android app that will be the implementation of the Android voice assistant and be able to convert my speech to text and send that text via HTTP request to a specific URL (my backend). Then read the response text, convert it to speech and say it....
I need to transport multiple very large files over an unstable and untrusted network, and the file contents are outputted as a data stream. I wanted to use OpenSSL for streaming authenticated encryption, but they purposefully don’t support that and are preachy about it....
it would be good to know if they use it, I know it doesn’t indicate they are open source (which, most online stores aren’t), but if they use any open source library, or api, etc, do they credit them correctly? (for example using software licensed under BSD, etc). That can be a way of knowing if they are stealing other...
Hey Folks, I’ve made a couple kiosks in the past around the house, but I’m hoping there’s an easier solution out there. Previously I’d install raspbian or something on to a pi and then remote into a full-screened chromium to set it up....
The Molly fork of Signal now has a variant that supports UnifiedPush, but it requires a helper called Mollysocket to be installed on a server somewhere. I can’t get my head around the (we’ll call them ‘lean’) docs, and I’ve never encountered such a helper for other UP apps. They just ask what to attach to, and they...
So currently I use Grapher for plotting equations. I’ve used it for years and it works great, but it doesn’t seem to be open source. So I looked for a FOSS alternative, but didn’t find one on F-Droid or the rest of the internet. Do you know of a FOSS alternative? What do you use? Do you prefer web applications (like...
Hi, soon Im gonna start giving e-lessons and I would really like to use some open source solutions. I will need communicator, calendar and whiteboard app. Any recomendations?
I often need to convert rich text copied from websites or Word/odt documents to Markdown, and sometimes vice versa. Is there an open source Markdown editor that lets me simultaneously paste in and edit a document both as WYSIWYG and Markdown source code? Preferably side by side....
As much as I’d rather use more private software for messaging, like matrix, there are still some groups I am only able to reach using discord. Does anyone know of any good frontends I can use to minimize the data hoovering?
I’ve gotten pretty far using FOSS tools when it comes to making games, but I would like something like Substance Painter so I can fully dabble into 3D....
I like to control the network bandwidth of each process/app on my linux, both ways (download, and upload), as well as my pc overall bandwidth. is that achievable on Linux ? Thanks
