ThePyroPython,

We’re just going to draw this straight line right across this map without even looking, having no respect for the residents living there, previous cultural boundaries, and can someone please hand me one of these new fangled sandwiches.

gmtom,

Well since the French invaded us back in '66 then we can just blame the whole thing on them really.

Ummdustry,

Empire has been a problem since it existed

Estiar,

Whelp, looks like there’s another war from a floundering country for oil coming up

Since there’s oil, you think the Americans are going to do anything?

Epicurus0319, (edited )

What? This time it’s between the only two ME countries with no oil. But the religious beliefs of many right-wing Americans do require the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple, and Hamas has some Americans among its hostages…

Edit: Sorry, wrong conflict. Been living under a rock, had no idea about this Venezuela thing

Estiar,

This is in South America. Venezuela and Guyana. Remember the British were a truly global empire

Tar_alcaran,

And Guyana very much has oil.

nuke,

Yeah it didn’t take long for Venezuela to go all aggro after news broke of Guyana’s untapped reserves.

Epicurus0319,

Oh. I thought it meant the war in Gaza (the Bri*ish are also behind Israel-Palestine), I’ve been living under a rock this past week due to midterms

nuke,

Context: Venezuela wants to annex 2/3 of Guyana
