Michael Charles Burham is accused of kidnapping a Warren County couple in May while on the run from authorities in New York, where he was a murder suspect.
Ain’t really much long game in running from the cops like this. Best case scenario - best case - they can evade long enough people forget about them and they can get a fake ID and set up a new life somewhere else.
More likely, they get caught because it’s a lot harder to be on the run like that than people think.
Oddly enough there have been several of these sort of “survivalist fugitives” and they almost always seem to get caught. Eric Frien ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Frein ) was on the run for 48 days before they caught him, back around '14.
