I’m assuming this settlement was reached because neither side viewed their case strong enough to go one way or the other in front of a jury/judge. That’s often why anyone takes a settlement, not always, but often. This way, Tennessee guarantees a cheaper cost by ending the lawsuit now, while she gets some guaranteed form of compensation/meager “justice.” She may have even ran out of money/wishes to cease spending more money on legal fees and approached the defendants with a settlement. In either case, I’m sure she’s more than happy to move on with her life, I doubt she’ll struggle to find another job she’s qualified for.
