Ah, but they don’t claim “jurisdiction” on foreign soil, they only use blackmail so you behave in a certain way if you don’t want them to apply their jurisdiction “back in China” (onto your friends, family, or yourself if you ever go back).
The problem is decades of outsourcing and globalization that have left countries dependant on not fully friendly ones with different sets of values.
China… (don’t mind they do the same stuff in GB/EU/Africa/Australia too)… but they might be less dependent on the US/Canada than the other way around. Right now they’re pushing a “Made in China 2025” program, to become less dependant on others, and everyone else better do something similar.
