My Pedals - CBA Habit

This is easily my most out there pedal. It’s basically psychedelia in a box. I’ve barely scratched the surface of what it can do. Right now I use it a few ways:

  • Octave down reverse delay
  • Multi tap delay with LP filter
  • Hold down the left switch to scan through what I was just playing.
  • Hold the right switch to create a pad or very short loop.

If anyone has “presets” or tips and tricks I’d love to hear them.

I’ve always admired Chase Bliss but felt their earlier pedals were just feature rich versions of the effects we all know and that I wouldn’t use them to the fullest. Before I got this I wanted to get a pedal that was very different and challenged me. I was between this and the Mood but ended up getting the Habit.

I think the Habit is surprisingly accessible. The manual does a very good job of breaking it down for you and introducing you to the pedal one part at a time. For me the Modify knob is my favorite part. I don’t have all the settings memorized so I just turn it and it leads to surprising results. I need to get into the ramp feature. I think that’s my one gripe with CBA pedals. They demand experimentation but it’s hard to access the DIP switches if the pedal is on a board. Also, they’re very expensive.
