For some reason, the article specifically avoids the actual wording of the Novel Prize Committee:

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 was awarded to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”

“Work in electron dynamics”, yeah thanks for being specific, article. What did they work on? Oh, it was creating absurdly short light pulses.

I don’t know why they committed 4 paragraphs just to say “electrons be fast”, but can’t say “they made short light pulses”.

Edit: The explanation provided by the committee is really nice.
