New research links frequent aggressive or impulsive behaviors (externalizing problems) in kindergarten to 2nd grade with higher risk both for being a bully and for being a victim of bullying in 3rd to 5th grade.

Anxious or withdrawal behaviors (internalizing problems) were not linked with higher risk for victimization.
