Normally I would say that this is being caused by lime build up, but this EKG is 2 months old and the temp sensor is bright and shinny.

sotothehail, Check for a bad wire. That was my issue. Their support was useless.

This is a pretty common failure with the Staggs. Even though their customer service is notoriously bad, I’d still reach out and see what happens.

Good to know. I wonder if it’s worth downgrading to the previous model. My older kettles in my office never did this.
Ghostalmedia, (edited ) It just randomly started doing this the other day. Temp sensor keeps jumping up and down 10 / 20 degrees F, and then it boils over violently.
Things sometime are ok if I unplug and do a hard restart. I wonder if this is a firmware thing.
