TODAY IN ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY - 09/30/1982

Columbia Records releases Bruce Springsteen’s sixth studio album, “Nebraska”. It started out as a collection of songs that The Boss recorded as demos on a 4-track tape recorder. Instead of re-recording them with The E Street Band, he decided to release them as they were. The album would climb to #3 on Billboard’s Top LPs & Tape chart and the same rank on the UK Official Album Chart. It has since been certified Platinum for sales of over one million copies in the United States.

My personal favorite from the album: State Trooper
