ExtraMedicated, The plant itself grows pretty easily. I generally leave it alone all summer and water it if needed.
And I usually only take one leaf at a time, but it grows easily enough that it can easily spare the older branches when they start turning brown.
You can even leave them outside over winter and they’ll grow back next year.
