Every word hides a secret, and we hide behind our words. "Language should be tortured to tell the truth", Elfriede Jelinek says. That's what poetry does. What it still attempts to do. To put a sentence upon the rack. A thought drawn and quartered. An inquisition sent to force convert every part of speech, until it means more than it can say. Every word hides a secret, and words tell secrets too.
