A thread: I've thought a lot about fantasy & why I am drawn to it the past few years, because I am working on one. In the fantasies I'm drawn to, I appreciate the deep metaphors about how we engage with our world. Like the best crime novels, they're modern morality plays. Moving the tales away from the day to day, or the mundane, subtly draws in the reader. Just as heart-thumping pace and suspense and mystery do with crime novels. 1/2 @bookstodon#writingcommunity
