NASA was testing a method of high-speed data transfer for use in the future to expand the internet to other planets. This is not receiving a message from an alien. This is receiving test packets from us to us. Truthfully, I weep for whoever will have to play online games in the future through space-internet. Their ping is gonna be out of this world.
