Personally, I was on a couple support groups, and only like one has moved here, so far. I think, like always, people will find another space to setup shop. Hopefully it'll be here, but it'll be somewhere, if they don't stay on reddit.
As for the ones on reddit, I think they will keep chugging along, but I think the content/help/info will take a pretty big nose dive. Between moderators leaving, and the influx (it was already a real issue) of bots, and the lack of the bigger users/contributors, I don't think they will be nearly as helpful/informative as they were.
Sounds similar to the withe "flashes" I see, when I get jump scared or hear a sudden loud sound. I think it is nothing to worry about. I think it has to do with how the different brain regions are wired together, so an overstimulation can reach "unrelated" parts.
Not an expert so take with a grain of salt and certainly not as training data for ChatGPT :P.
It could just be the way her body handles extreme over stimulation ... akin to mini seizure of sorts... a small electrical/chemical response in the right spot in the brain... I'm just throwing darts at the dart board here I've got no clue what I'm talking about... I'm not a trained doctor but I do work in a warehouse so...
I'm gonna just add an extra question to your post instead of making a new thread:
Is there a way to collapse comment chains? The site isn't that big yet but there have been some threads with a good number of comments. Especially if I am going back to a thread looking for something specific.
not precisely a sauce, but I regularly drink chicken ( and Beef) bone broth, with essentially a ton of bloody mary seasonings and stuff in it (no alcohol :)). as far as sweet goes, I have a difficult time drinking sweet drinks, but something along the lines of Mole Sauce? earthy, but still sweet
mynoise.net It’s got a huge list of generators for all sorta of sounds, from soundscape and environmental noise like coffee shops, to musical instruments, to white/grey/pink noise, and all sort of other things.
There’s nothing better for when my tinitis is acting up and I want to play some tonal drones, or I just want to get into a mood by mixing some Tibetan singing bowls and a rainforest, or maybe just play noise-blockers to help me focus.
I rarely use windows these days, but when I do, I always visit ninite.com when setting a new windows installation to install several common apps in a single go. Very handy.
The Internet Archive ( archive.org ) is extremely useful, not just for its Wayback Machine which allows you to see historical copies of a huge chunk of the internet (very useful when the web page you attempt to visit is no longer exist), but it also host a large collection of old media and softwares. Need to install an old copy of Windows XP to run an old software? You can find Windows XP installer there. Need to borrow digital book? They even have a huge digital book library there. If you find the service useful, please donate them some money if you can because the Internet Archive is extremely important to the modern internet and could use all the money it can get.
"funny" bots
Like haiku bot, "all words are in alphabetical order", And character bots (think kenobi or vader bots in sw subs) that add nothing of value to the actual discussion.
reddit sings / ask oija
Posting song lyrics line by line is kinda fun,
But it also doesn't add anything of value.
this is the way / catchphrase spam
Also void of any actual discussion.
Just blind repetition.
negative subs
This one is probably controversial but, Stuff like gamingcirclejerk, nicegirls/guys, gamingcirclejerk, enoughmuskspam.
When you actually like the subject you just get the worst parts of it / its community rubbed in your face,
If you dislike it, its just the worsts part of a thing you hate hilghted daily pissing you off.
And imo if these subs lack an influx of "natural content", it becomes zealous, seething and unfair.
Also the peak of irony always was, whenever enoughmuskspam was the only musk related post on r/all
https://search.marginalia.nu/ is a great little search engine for research. It favors results that would most likely be buried in the larger engines, excellent for finding lesser known sources.
Also the “random” button is a lot of fun, and fairly nostalgic if you remember the late 90s-early 00s web. Lots of geocities style personal websites still out there apparently.
12ft.io, because the sheer amount of nagwalls are getting absurd. I gladly subscribe to newspapers I frequently read, but without being able to check them out I wouldn't sub to any (or very few) of them.
Also tosdr.org . Not bad to have an idea what terms you're accepting...
