Smk, to mensliberation in Gay and Straight Men Prefer Masculine-Presenting Gay Men for a High-Status Role: Evidence From an Ecologically Valid Experiment - Sex Roles

When I see a gay men acting up like the stereotypical gay, I feel like they are acting it up in the same way when I see a very macho hetero man, or a very stereotypical feminine women. I don’t feel like they are genuine, it almost feel scripted to me. Could it be that it feels more genuine to them ? I’m projecting my bias here obviously.

It's back!

I won't remove this as a duplicate because I think it's worthwhile having the paper itself shared here as a top-level post, but there's been some pretty extensive discussion of this already. See this post. Some of the comments really only apply to the reporting about the study (since last time the link was to a kind of misleading article about the paper), but there were some interesting critiques of the study itself as well.
