New Blog Post. It is about my ISTE (international society of technology in education) RFP to present. I'd love it if people would look at my proposal and see if I have any mistakes. Also, I have a new friend. Alonso Martinez. He works at Google AI and is an artist. I recommended him to present a keynote at ISTE.

New Blog Post: Edtechman-I think by 5th grade students should have some exposure to syntax coding. Block coding is fine but if you want to ratchet up problem solving and coding literacy, syntax coding is the way to go. It’s a natural progression, but I think the average teacher is scared to go 2 syntax coding. I want to change that. http://edtechman.blogspot.com/?m=0 #python #coding #education #education #teaching #5thgrade @edutooters @donwatkins #programming #ipensource #trinket.io

@scerruti @edutooters @donwatkins Stephen. I agree with you. First. It sucks that your students don't get exposed to computers until your grade/class. Second. Exposure to syntax coding in high school is what you are doing. That does not mean "don't 'regress' to block coding." I'm not saying that. I'm only partly a fan of Code dot org. It is great for exposure and getting children started but sometimes it is too prescribed and does not promote students "playing with the code."

@FrankKruse @donwatkins @edutooters This is awesome Frank. I love making "spirographs." When I teach children to make them (initially in ) I tell them they are digital artists and I always get a bunch of "wows."

@donwatkins @FrankKruse @edutooters I agree. Programming and Art are not taught or appreciated. Digital Artist is an enormous field. Do you know how many digital artists work in the movie industry?
