This episode was directed by Alexander Siddig (Dr. Bashir). He directed 2 DS9 episodes, this one and another Ferengi-centric episode, "Business As Usual"
This episode contained the first mention of the Ferengi drink, "Slug-o-Cola". The most recent mention of that drink is on Lower Decks' "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place".
(from Memory Alpha)
One of the events mentioned during this episode was the Dominion's capture of the planet Betazed. We don't hear much more about that part of the war but the Star Trek novel "The Battle of Betazed" continues that story.
Good evening everyone. This is my #1 favorite DS9 episode. While it is known for Senator Vreenak's "It's a fake" line, my favorite scene is at the end with Garak and Sisko when we realize Garak has been 2 steps ahead of everyone else the whole time.
