In more random adventures in forced home remodeling: our Good: kitchen is wired for 220V! (apparently built in the 1970's war between electric and gas). Can put in an induction range/stove if we want!
Bad: HOLY CARP HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE PRICES FOR INDUCTION RANGES/STOVES?!

We had to replace our range due to a short inside the old one (don't buy an LG!) and while I wanted induction, availability and price led me away from it.

The higher end non-induction glass cooktop (GE in this case) is still a huge improvement over budget electric and is just as good as the decent gas cooktops I have used.
