The is the lead headline in the WSJ. The problem is not how to "talk about" abortion. The problem is what they have done about abortion. Don't tell me Murdoch's WSJ news pages don't have an agenda....

Look at these headlines on The Times' home page and the narrative they promote:

POLLS ARE BULLSHIT. Pollsters are bullshitters. Reporters who report polls report bullshit. The only polls that matter are the ones that come on election day. Anything else preempts democracy.

What will the talking heads say in the morning? They were declaring polling Armageddon but tonight the actual polls -- voting -- sent a radically different message. Listen to the voters, not the pollsters, assholes.

I do not understand why newspaper home pages 1) repeat stories 2-3 times and 2) keep old stories up for days, thereby reducing the number of stories to promote and giving readers less choice. I don't flip section-to-section; I expect a good home page view.

Internet companies attack the open web on multiple fronts: FB/IG, Twitter, now TikTok test paywalls. FB/IG, now Twitter deprecate links, the basis of the web. Thank goodness for Mastodon.

Burning Man is a festival of narcissism: The privileged who have so much privilege they can give up privilege for a few days and call that self-reliance. It is the paradox of narcissism: self-obsession is not self-awareness.

Jeezus. Maybe the "struggle" is because of coverage like this from The New York Times. Appalling.

Good look at the impact of open-source and small models on AI:
"What was once the reserve of the resource-rich has become a playground for anyone with curiosity, coding skills, and a good laptop."
This isn’t the first time companies have ignored the power of the open-source community. https://slate.com/technology/2023/05/ai-regulation-open-source-meta.html?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=traffic&utm_source=article&utm_content=twitter_share
