Great analysis by @ploum with some historical context of some risks of dealing with Meta/Threads/Facebook & the Fediverse. The XMPP & OOXML examples cited are well illustrated & relevant.

My favorite part is that it starts with a subtle homage to Asterix and his indomitable village holding out against the Romans... Now who is going to brew up the magic potion.
