The PAM configs are like rulesets that are applied in order and for a program. You can find them under /etc/pam.d (at least on distros using systemd I guess). There you just need to put something along the lines of
auth required pam_permit.so
at the very beginning of the polkit named file and it should work. Verify it is tho.
Honestly tho, it’s amazing how bad a lot of distros look out of the box. Often even the preferred DE doesn’t look quite right and all the alternative ones are just awful ports.
Slapping your logo onto something and matching the color scheme isn’t designing dammit :D
They’re doing it the wrong way round, VBox was actual garbage on Windows the last time I tried it. On Linux it just works and on Windows I considered myself lucky whenever something worked.
Basically every tech publication. In Germany heise.de is the largest publication, usually with very interesting and balanced, but the comments are deliberately hidden away. They are a place where the worst of the internet lives apparently.
There is a wallpaper plugin that grabs pictures from subreddits of your choice, or probably was if they used Reddit’s API. Maybe one could port this to Lemmy or other services.
It is, because you don’t switch the channel, you decide to skip the commercials that are meant to finance it.
I think they are immoral beyond any doubt, but many websites are acting immoral as well, which justifies their use. I happily disable them for sites with an ethical approach to advertising and data collection.
It’s surprisingly easy. Just install Lutris and than Epic via Lutris with Proton as runner and you’re good to go. I wouldn’t have thought it works just like that.
