Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Had the same deal when I worked it also.

A big step down in the aide from previous donations.

Syldon, to worldnews in The UK joins 39 other countries rated ‘obstructed’ in the CIVICUS Monitor annual report on civic space People Power Under Attack.
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

There are no quick fixes to remedy the state of civic space in the UK. But if this downward trend is to be reversed, the government needs to shelve the Public Order Bill, repeal measures on protest in the Policing Act and change the tone of their damaging narrative. about protesters and campaigners.

Hence:

The UK does not hold companies to account. This is pointless under this Tory government.

OFC government can hold companies to account. What do you think the Leveson inquiry was about? The monopolies commission, Grenfel inquiry and many more.

The UK does not hold companies to account. This is pointless under this Tory government. Google got away with data abuse because no one suffered any damages apparently. P&O dismissed its workers.

The article doesn’t have anything to back up the claim. It is nothing more than click bait.

Syldon, to worldnews in Top UN official in New York resigns over inaction on Palestinian Genocide.
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

The UN has never had any control over any country. It has has only ever been designated a talking shop where countries can get an understanding of each other. They may have voted a consensus on decisions, but that is by agreement not enforcement. If we had a body that could dictate morality to any country, then we would not need any country with a military.

It is not antisemitic to be critical of Israel. Governments need to wake up to this fact.

Syldon, to apple_enthusiast in Apple’s keyboard, trackpad, and mouse still have Lightning ports
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

It wasn’t just about comfort; it was for standardisation. Having a proprietary interface opens up the threat for gouging the customer. If everyone uses the same cable then you can buy it anywhere.

It is probably state instigated. Putin needs something to deflect from Ukraine.

Syldon, to worldnews in The Hidden Reasons Behind the War on Gaza
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Disturbing propaganda BS.

A lot of premise based on the need for the EU to trade with Asia. Except the EU is actively trying to move away from these autocracies. Not because they are biased, but it is showing that supporting these regimes is proving to be a danger to world security. The more money these people have the more they are using it to finance military might, and then using that might on their neighbours.
