As someone who speaks English as a second language I mostly learned from school, I now need to perform surgical removal of the archaisms and overly-formal language that is lodged in my project, because people don't talk this way and I've learned from experience that this makes people uncomfortable.

Unpopular opinion: If your game has an "auto-battle" feature, your game has failed at one of the fundamental reasons why you have combat in games. If a part of your game is so un-engaging that the option to skip it is even considered, it shouldn't be in the game.
