@RubyJones @smutstodon I have never managed to do one short / day either. The idea is that you write or draw one piece with the kink for every day. I think the best I have managed was about half. But even if you pick just one or a handful it's still fun! Especially if others are using the same list.
I'm putting together one with my patrons 🙂

@hypnobeard @CoinOfNote @Greenseer It is a total pain! There is no cross-posting option so I have to copy everything manually 🙄
Plus BS has only the most basic features so I'm thankful for the few people who are here too because I get notified when they post while on BS, I'd just miss the post because there is no notification or list feature.
Anyway, Mastodon is still my main and I copy stuff to BS if I have the spoons.

@NovemberMan This is not really based on any myth aside from the framing being the myth of Persephone living with her mum for half the year and with her husband below the earth for the other half. And a woman has needs!
It's a fun fantasy inspired by myth and the hotspouse trope 😊

Happy to all who celebrate. Today, day and night are of approximately equal length. From now on, the days get shorter in the Northern hemisphere as descends to the underworld and Demeter's sadness halts any plant growth until her daugher returns in Spring. Unless it is actually in winter that Persephone is with . Both interpretations are compelling.

Ladies, I have a horny man-god for you! Wait, "horned", a horned man-God - Gelas, from Sicily! Phew, that could have got awkward! (Ok @AimeeMaroux I know you can still do something inappropriate with Gelas!) This Æ Tetras harks all the way back to 420 - 405 BC, it amazes me that it is possible to hold something so old in your hands! More at: https://coinofnote.com/gela-ae-tetras-420-405-bc/

Original coin has: "Bull right, olive branch above, three pellets (mark of value = 1/4 litra) in exergue". On mine, basically only the bull is visible.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote The tiny horns are adorable!

A gentle river does spark the imagination. There are people bathing in it, after all 😏

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer Not a river but a horned god: Kyrene and Apollon Karneios or Hermes Parammon depicted on this coin that is supposedly from Kyrene.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer I tried so hard to get people to move to Mastodon with little success, now everyone joined Bluesky 😐

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer Did you know that groups work across instances? Everyone following a group will see the post, no matter if the instances know each other yet.
They are easy to set up, just tag something like ancientcoins @ a.gup.pe or type it into the search bar and boom! It exists!

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer I think most people in my niche have not made the move either. On the birdsite I had a mix of scholars, fellow erotica authors and adjacent creators (podcasters, cam girls & boys, sex bloggers, etc.), and mythology and folklore enthusiasts. I feel like there is only a fraction of all of this here and there is no community yet that is easy to find. I hope the new search will make it much easier.
That being said, the biggest myth community has always been on Tumblr, not Twt.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer I wrote about them in my Mastodon guide (heading "groups"):

https://www.eroticmythology.com/mastodon-for-creators/

I'm still really surprised that there is no tool that displays all posts from the Fediverse using a specific hashtag. I, too, have looked for it.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@Greenseer @CoinOfNote Awwww, thanks Greenseer 💚
I only occasionally browse coin forums or museum pages so I am super happy about people like you and CoinOfNote to share their knowledge about a coin or correct me if I'm wrong (sometimes the museum website seems to get it wrong!).
But of course it would be even more fun with more community. Maybe Tumblr will, in fact, federate at some point. That would be cool.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@Greenseer @CoinOfNote Yeah, I do boost a little more stuff from my wider interests here too instead of being super laser-focused.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer There's always new things to learn but the guide is indeed very basic. The groups thing is probably the most valuable tip!
If it ties in with a mythological theme you can also use the hashtag MythologyMonday. It's not huge but there are a few faithful contributors. And engagement on Twitter has gone to SHIT for that hashtag. Last time I hosted there was mostly ads and very little engagement. Which is a good thing, IMO.

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer Nothing like a good innuendo 😌

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer It seems kinda dead? I mean, lots of my Twitter friends made an account but it seems very few people made it their main. I see mainly the same people posting but then I also miss posts because there's only the main feed and I can't sort people into lists like I can do here or on Twitter. I get much less engagement but I'm also less active myself I guess?
I just wish all the people would come here instead. 😩

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@CoinOfNote @Greenseer Adorable, right? And I know there are at least SOME coins with asses. Both kinds 😁

Here, #Eros is helping two women remove their pubic hair to be extra sexy. Yes, this goes back to antiquity. Eros and the woman behind him are using an oil lamp to burn off the hair. The bristly pubes growing back earned the vulva the nickname "piggy" in acient Greek.

While the auction house listed this piece as a rare C1st BCE intaglio, my suspicion is its a fake. Ancient Roman phalluses rarely came with balls when you could have another phallus! Something about the lightning bolts also feels off. What do you think?

#PhallusThursday #AncientRome #History

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@phistorians I agree, why add balls when cxyou can have another phallus instead? Also the testicles are too huge. Not even satyrs are depicted with huge testes. These are the finds I do have of fascina with balls and none of them look similar to the engraving.

This week's theme is trees 🌲
Many stories in have trees in it, some of which I will be telling in this thread.
The most famous tree-related myth must be the transformation of Daphne. Hit with Eros' fiery arrows, was burning with desire for the nymph and pursued her when she fled from his advances. Feeling her strength wane, Daphne prayed for help from either her father or Gaia and was turned into the first laurel tree.

@mythology

1/?

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@mythology Another target of 's desire, but one that willingly became his lover, is Kyparissos, a beautiful boy from the island of Keos. accidentally killed his beloved pet stag and begged of Apollon that he would mourn forever. Apollon tried to comfort him but no words nor gentle touch would soothe Kyparissos' grief until the god finally relented and turned his lover into a cypress tree, still associated with grief and mourning in Greece.

2/?

AimeeMaroux,
@AimeeMaroux@mastodon.social avatar

@mythology The laurel and the cypress are both sacred to Apollon. But what happens if someone cuts down a sacred tree? Erysichthon found out the hard way: he cut down a poplar in 's sacred grove but the goddess felt that her holy tree was in pain and she disguised herself as her own priestess, warning Erysichthon but he would not listen so she cursed him with insatiable hunger so that when he had eaten away all his wealth, he ate himself.

Sep 18: Do your characters worry about their health?

Most of my characters are gods, so they can't get sick in the way us mortals can. But there are ways to hurt even immortals, like for instance with the blood of the hydra. It killed poor Chiron, the wise centaur who taught medicine, among many other things.
