Just in time for holiday travel, tomorrow is the 120th anniversary of the 1st powered flight by our hometown bicycle-building flyboys, the Wright Bros. Coincidentally, the time from us back to them is about the same as they were beyond the 1st hot air balloon. Read this book on your flights & layovers!

It's unusual here, for so many popular topics & titles to be in one box. I must've once prioritized these, promptly been swamped, & forgotten them... 'til now!
G.H. was a staple in my circle for a time in the '80s. It was the Luke & Laura era with Robert & Holly Scorpio, crazy storylines, and possibly the most adventurous tales ever told by a daytime soap opera. It's now one of the longest running shows in TV history! If you're a fan, this book is for you.
Cursory glances convinced me this was a sand dune under a blue sky. Then, I couldn't parse how nature might produce that unusual dip in the right foreground. This isn't a book of optical illusions, but, it's cover highlights the way art can reveal quirks of human perception and provide a different perspective.
Santa's watching. Be good. Reading is good. It's probably fine to read a book of naughty cartoons–after all, you didn't draw them. Or play it safe with books from The Far Side, and our other comic strip collections; like Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County, Peanuts, B.C., & many more! Santa loves a good laugh! Have a hilarious Ho-Ho holiday!
Today's feature is Doc Savage paperbacks of the 1960s and '70s from Bantam Books. They're reprints from Doc Savage magazine, a pulp from the '30s and '40s published by Street and Smith. Nearly 90 percent of the initial Doc Savage stories were written by author Lester Dent. Kenneth Robeson was a house-name owned by Street and Smith.
Adventure awaits!

It's a rainy First Friday in the beautiful & historic Oregon District of Dayton, Ohio. Even Tom Swift tried to elbow in on the action with a Wright Flyer & a crankless ignition car for his adventures. We're a fascinating stop for your next expedition!
I found some of these in a 'to do' stack last night. I'm not sure it's complete, but I'll unravel the mystery when I put them out tonight.
Journeys Through Bookland is a set of 10 collected works for children, plus an 11th volume containing a readers' guide & index. Originally published in 1909, they've been reprinted in many bindings over the years.

I don't have a book photo today. In-store temperature dropped into the lower 50s °F (about 11-12°C) so, I turned on the heat.
The books & I should be nice and comfy 68°F/20°C through Spring. 🙂
