Hello everyone!

My name is Ali, I'm a at the University of the Sunshine Coast with and

My project "The Cost of Human Milk" explores the (s) of through the lived experience of those who donate, share or receive human milk. (I've just started recruiting. If you're interested in learning more, I'll be posting more about it soon!)

I balance this with casualised work in the university sector as a and (both jobs I love, and blessed to be working with total legends) and raising two young kids.

I'm not hugely active on social media but I do love to talk all things and would love to connect with others who share the same interests.

I fell hard and fast into Ayòbámi Adébáyò's first novel, Stay with Me, when it was listed for the Women's Prize for Fiction a few years ago, so hard and fast I neglected to make notes or flag passages. One of those unputdownable reads. This one is off to a slower start for me, but it's early days.

Does anyone else on Mastodon use the Obsidian notes app? What are your thoughts? Good points? Bad points?

Not sure what I'll use the regular-sized for. I either use a DIN A4 notebook or the passboard-sized Travelers notebook at work. Guess I'll have to use it for traveling after all.

@nicole has a fantastic 16-minute Youtube video at https://youtu.be/vS-b_RUtL1A explaining how she organises her notes in Obsidian for findability with LATCH: Location, Alphabet, Time, Category and Hierarchy.

Cater to each of these search approaches with combinations of Obsidian's organising methods: Folders, Links, Tags and Metadata.

Installed the Chrome extension ‘MarkDownload - Markdown Web Clipper’.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/markdownload-markdown-web/pcmpcfapbekmbjjkdalcgopdkipoggdi

The use case was that I wanted to easily capture in Obsidian stuff that I’d published online. Starting with some Mastodon posts.

The clipper downloads a web page as markdown, with the file extension ‘.md’.
