Drill, c.1807 (Print after J. Atkinson, Anne S.K. Brown Collection)

I love this print for many of the little details!

The troops drilling in barracks coats (long sleeved waistcoats), the fugelman, the Sergeants in parade dress and the Officers observing!

Re-enacting Memory: sort of ... that time in 2011 when my sisters and I traveled to Germany with our Mom.

It was her first time back since she left as a young girl. Part of our quest was to find relatives still living there. Our cousins in Leipzig studied us on Facebook and saw my reenacting photos and felt they had to take me to see the Monument to the Battle of the Nations.

An amazing site! A fabulous visit. An incredible trip.

I find this photo compelling as it illustrates, what would be a wartime strength company, somewhere just over 70 muskets.

41st Regiment reenactors and the 41st squaddies (summer students - white trousers) from Fort George under my command at Fort Erie.

Some times you encounter a moment that you can not resist!

New video!

A recent War of 1812 event has spawned a series of new videos which we will be uploading over a week or so.

This one is a more detailed look at what is involved in falling in the British troops on the parade square.
