Like many early automobile companies, Anderson Electric Car Company, founded in 1907, had long been a carriage & buggy company prior. It chose to produce electric cars not gas pwrd.
"Cleaner" Electrics, like the Detroit Electric here in Nov. 1917, were often marketed to upper class women (as avoid the chauffer) & during WWI w/ a "be patriotic" angle.

In the interwar years and mid-20th C. many US cities made fateful decisions for our climate in abandoning electric street railways for freeways & autos, none more than Los Angeles.
I’ll be blunt. We have no hope of averting climate chaos or preventing the catastrophic collapse of our modern society without SYSTEM CHANGE.
Keeping capitalism in charge means a death sentence for billions of humans — most of them poor and in the Global South — along with complete extinction for uncounted plant and animal species.
The fake “democracy” we have in the Global North is nothing but a game show owned and produced by oligarchs. As long as they remain in control of the system, nothing meaningful will change. How you vote doesn’t matter, because every important candidate is approved in advance, vetted and managed by those men behind the curtain.
Either capitalism dies or we die. It’s that simple.
A fine #Monday to you all. Another start of the week and another chance to move forward. Sometimes I must remind myself not to #worry about things I can't control. #Politics, #environment, and stuff at work. A lot of it, it's not within my power to #change. So, I'm going to take things as they come. Handle it when I can. But don't #stress yourself out because eventually, you will have a situation you need to deal with. So, save your energy for those times instead. Here is your morning #mantra.
