Bamboo Leaves, and a Leafy Bamboo Forest ( kbin.social )

I love this idea! It'd add a very nice looking leaf block (great texture btw) and make for some more biome variety.

I have three suggestions though:

• Have fewer leaves per bamboo. I think with how many leaves you have, the canopy seems much denser than it should be. I think just a thin layer of leaves per bamboo would he fine.
• Put the leaves higher up. Somewhat goes with my first suggestion, but having them extend so low makes the biome feel cramped.
• Use a different biome name. This is more personal taste, but I'm not a huge fan of the old growth motif, and I don't think the name rlly fits as much here. "Leafy bamboo forest" would be perfectly fine and easy to remember.

Thanks! It's just an extrapolation of the existing bamboo leaf texture, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I guess it depends on what pictures you use for reference, but the ones I used looked pretty dense. Like, dense to the point that you can't see the sky outside of the path. (E.g., 1, 2)

I should have included more pictures, the canopy height actually varies quite a lot. In some places it's as low as 3-4 blocks, but in other it's easily double. On the whole though, I think you're right. The leaves are much lower than their IRL counterparts, and it could be better

Use a different biome name

I could get behind that. Personally I like the "old growth" term. It's a legit term, meaning "a forest that has attained great age without significant disturbance, and thereby exhibits unique ecological features". That said, "leafy bamboo jungle" is definitely more memorable and fits just as well.
