Honestly, it's mind-boggling how the top 1% have us believing their relentless greed is just the norm and that we're helpless to do anything about it. This is particularly noticeable on platforms like Reddit, where we, the users, are the real value creators and even volunteer our time....
doesn't have to be anything special. can be online or in real life....
I think people who are patient and interact with children with respect and empathy is a giveaway.
I’m new myself but took the time to learn the platform. I’m not sure other people will have as much of an interest, so I’m just wondering if it would be a good idea for some of the old hat people to post some tips for people coming over from reddit.
RANT AHEAD:...
The title says it all, i saw something in the beehaw tech community about explaining the downfall of RedHat like drag community beef. So, let's keep the joke going uwu. What happened with Russia and the Wagmer Group and the sudden stop if Wagner's advance?
I'll keep this short and sweet. Some random guy on the internet compiled together and summarized a bunch of climate research papers analyzing global trends and a bunch of different slow actors that are all going to kick in soon like the permafrost in Russia or the polar ice caps etc....
On one hand (heh) there’s apparently evidence to suggest that handwriting activates parts of the brain which aren’t typically activated by just typing something out. I can see how that would be the case and why it could sometimes be useful....
Tongue firmly planted in cheek, of course :P...
I’ve never been a breakfast person, and I don’t wake up hungry. I used to go a few hours without eating anything and then have a breakfast of two scrambled eggs, 1/2 cup of brown rice, and a sliced avocado with some salt or soy sauce. That’s a very tasty and healthy breakfast, but I get hungry again within a couple of...
a perennial favorite topic of debate. sound off in the replies.
Mine is going to be laid back if all goes according to plan. I’m going to do some birding with a friend tomorrow morning, then I’m headed to a used bookstore to buy a copy of “the pricess bride” that I talked myself out of the other day (I’ve never read it). Then I’m hitting the farmers market and then relaxing at...

doubling back through our log, Gaywallet has also chipped in a few hundred approvals today. thank you for your continued patience
once again speaking for myself here, except where these sentiments have already been expressed by other admins. this is not a moderator document or anything, and it will not be stickied....
submitting this in chat because i truly do not know where else to put this link. could you live here? i fucking couldn’t, jesus. anyways, a bit of context:...
Hey, look at you.
It was hiding inside a copy of The Advancement of Learning and Novum Organum, by Francis Bacon. I’m not familiar with the contents honestly? Still. It’s heartwarming getting to see this very human thing and interesting to wonder why it was stuck here of all places.
For context: I was a much more ignorant person back in 2014 than I am today. My views then do not reflect my views now (tw: Fatphobia, Sexism, Sinophobia, transphobia, Z-propaganda)...
just a reminder that much of reddit’s collective zeitgeist up to sept 2021 is available via chat-gpt, you just need to ask it the right way....
Hi everyone! I’m in my late 20s and I’ve been reminiscing on my young adult life and what I like/don’t like. One point that has been coming up for me is close, vulnerable friendships. I used to have a few friends who I was very close to a few years ago, who I could talk to about deep life stuff, big emotions, vulnerable...
Seems like a good portion of the activity in the communities is reddit oriented. If the goal is leaving/hurting reddit, it seems we should be continuing on like it doesn’t exist, instead of continuing to drive interest to the site. Thoughts?

I nuked my Reddit accounts today. Deleted all comments and posts, then the accounts themselves. The tool I used showed each comment as it was deleted, and it was bittersweet....
