Why do apps reload constantly?

for me, just uber does this. i assume it’s some sort of crash or bad coding practices, but it barely matters with uber. no other app does it on my phone.

however, maybe long press on the apps icon, go to App Info -> Battery. There should be a switch to allow it to run in background, as well as Optimize Battery Usage -> Select “All” and search for it.

This is a great idea, I’m going to try it

Edit: messages is a system app, battery is set to unrestricted, still reloads with blank screen and big messages icon at the center while it does so.

do you have developer options on? i vaguely remember a setting like “don’t keep activities” (Activities are basically app windows on Android)

I do have developer mode on, but don’t keep activities is off
