My #Kickstarter is almost over. We've hit the target and the first two stretch goals. With luck, we might hit the third one too.
The French Maquis are possibly the most widely-known #SecondWorldWar resistance organisation, but there were resistors in every occupied territory, and #SOE agents worked in almost all of them.
I've launched a Kickstarter for my next book, an SOE Sourcebook. There are early bird rewards, so you can get a bargain if you're quick.
It was SOE agents that assassinated Heydrich, and they were very important in the battle for Madagascar. The sourcebook will give you everything you need to play similar adventures, and plenty more.
@sdunnewold asked to write some recommendations for the #DiceExploder blog festival, so here we go!
My first recommendation is the interview with Jay Dragon on the #QueeRPG podcast: Violence Is The Loudest Person at the Party (https://queerpg.com/podcast/press-pause-lets-chat-1/). Jay is one of the most original and insightful voices in the indie RPG scene, and this interview perfectly demonstrates why.
I also very recommend Player's Principles and Agenda (https://www.gauntlet-rpg.com/1-forward/players-principles-and-agenda) from the Plus One Forward podcast. It demonstrates beautifully how you can use your agency as a player to not just improve your own enjoyment but that of everyone at the table.
I'm working on an In-A-Wicked-Age-Heartbreaker. I actually have something playable, but right now it's the schedules of my regular playtesters that's just a mess.
I do think it's going to be pretty fun though. It codifies the oracle a little bit, so that a given session might be a "Blood and Romance" session, or an "Epic and Wits" session, with slightly different moves for each.
Oh OK, I don't really understand, but I know cool when I hear it. Is there any documents that can be waved at people accompanied by excited explanation?
Understandable, right now it's just a bungled mess that I might be able to introduce to my group of very entrenched testers.
But I'd always recommend giving In a Wicked Age a read. It's one of the games that really had the biggest impact on how I perceived the possibilities of roleplaying back in the day.
Getting illustrations and formatting completed for a rules-lite game about Illuminati inquisitors fighting off the collapse of time and space in Earth's hollow core.
Text has been playtested and is more-or-less set. A website, blog, and newsletter are a couple weeks from getting published. And a Kickstarter should go up in the coming months.
My co-designer and I just launched the website and Patreon for our new publishing company, Archstone Press, and we’re actively working on our game and a companion setting for it! I’ve also been putting out a few blog posts on sandbox gaming. Right now I’m working on getting the setting primer together to put up on the Patreon this week
@Homebrewandhacking@ttrpg@indiettrpg the current plan is to put a free version up on Itch/Drivethru sometime in 2024, and I’m sure I’ll be very loud about that when it happens 😂
