Hey all. as lemmy world has grown, they have had to make some decisions about their legal protection (defederating some piracy communities), which I cannot and will not support....
I just set up my instance and noticed that posts on my Instance dont have the same upvote and comment counts? What couses this and how can I solve it?...
I usually browse Lemmy hot and just block any communities I don’t find interesting. As I understand it, the blocking seems to be done by your instance. So is there a maximum number of communities a user can block on the instance side? And what is it?...
How to reproduce:...
It’s easy enough to look at https://[instance]/instances and see which instances a particular instance has blocked....
Hopefully it’s the right community, I didn’t find more appropriate so post this. I’ll remove the post if it isn’t....
Hi there,...
I’m considering migrating away from Lemmy.world on account of downtime and the recent blocking of piracy communities. However, I am quite fond of Lemmy.world’s other choices in defederation, e.g. nazi nonsense and CSAM....
I have been struggling with getting a docker setup of lemmy running on amr64 server and I almost got it going....

I’ve deleted one of my comments, but I’m still getting replies on it, indicating that it’s still visible to others and not appearing as “deleted” as it should be appearing. I logged in with my alt account on a different instance and verified that the comment was still visible despite the fact that it was supposed to be...
Because of copyright laws in my country, I want to get rid of the option to upload images on my instance....
For some reason on my self hosted lemmy instance, I’ve managed to accumulate about 50GB worth of data inside my pictrs docker volume. I’m the only person on my instance and I’ve never uploaded any photos to my server other than my profile photo, profile banner, and site logo. Shouldn’t all photos be hosted on other...
Hello !...
I am trying to figure out how people can subscribe to a Lemmy community or Lemmy thread?...
This is my “shitposting” account, but I’m now looking for a Lemmy instance to host a serious user account, on which I could contribute with some pictures. I created an account lemm.ee, but found out after the fact that image uploads there are limited to 100kB, which is quite small. Therefore my question: Is there a way to...
I shared a post about my instance....
Can a admin delete every community and its posts from an instance on its end? For example, if a instance that was federated to your instance goes offline forever and is not going back online, can the admin delete all communities and posts from that instance that is federated to your instance?
Is there anything that can be done? Or is this account doomed to be a shell of what once was?...
Just asking as I did exactly that and it kind of seems like it works? I would have thought there would have been some kind of checksum/key etc…...
Using the web client in Firefox, I cannot seem to expand comments below a certain level. Clicking “3 more comments ->” just spins. Any ideas?
