This book is definitely more enjoyable than the previous one (Fortune’s Favorites) probably because the plot is more streamlined and well paced. The focus of the narrative is more on political intrigue rather than military campaigns, making it more interesting than previous books, in my opinion. Caesar comes across as...
Is there any book app on iOS that allows Face ID or Passlock?...
I am reading The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky (P&V translation). About 20% through. It’s starting to get interesting as the characters start to take shape. Till now I have read and enjoyed the P&V translations of both Crime and Punishment and Demons. This is a huge book and I am looking forward to enjoying this for...
I realised the other day that I’ve enjoyed lots of murder mystery games and shows, but I’ve hardly read any mystery novels. The only ones that come to mind are Altered Carbon and some of the Discworld Watch novels (all great!)....
I’m being gifted a “Little Free Library” for my birthday and I’m super excited to get started....
I finally read “Old Man and the Sea”. I have tried to start it many times, but the beginning was just so slow. Has anyone here read it? What are your thoughts on this Ernest Hemingway classic?
It was weird....
A friend recommended me this book, pretty satisfying reading since book is written in an easy and understandable language. Also found online version redstarpublishers.org/cornforth1953.pdf...

I always say to myself that it is not worth to force books through. I do like 1/5th then I drop it if it did not catch me. Now I’m reading Pandora’s star which is a great scifi book and sandwitched inbetween the great scfi chapters there is this uninteresting detective storyline with zero scifi, people talking to eachother...
I really enjoyed that book and the whole “alone in space” vibe it gives off. Are there any more like it?...

Writing a Good Bad Guy in Books (In Fact any media) is the “classic choice” sometimes they are really poorly made, and don’t work. Other times, they are loved so much that when the character was only added to kill the hero, they end up becoming an Icon
In universe I mean, not by the reader. I remember the few times I saw stories like that were fairly… cringe; the MC was usually a loner and the people didn’t have a good reason to hate him, if any at all!...
I’m planning to publish a book in the following months, but I’m not entirely sure if the procedure is the same for both copyrighted and copy-lefted books. If you hadn’t guessed, I’m publishing one with the latter license (i.e. Creative Commons). I’m planning on using Lulu.com for this first book, but I was wondering if...

Hey fellow book lovers! I want to read books/classics from all over the world. Please recommend me favorites from your home-country, something you would want others to know/to read. Already looking forward to your suggestions!
Loved the Embers of Illeniel series and I’m really digging where Phil Tucker’s Immortal Great Souls series is going, and I’m looking for more. I like the progression elements of a weak/underpowered MC growing into a powerhouse over the course of the story, and I REALLY like said powerhouse using that strength to pay back...

Do any of you just buy books to add them to your library?...
