snek,

There’s a lot of evidence that modern CBT therapy just doesn’t really connect with men very well. Mainly because we don’t really tend to solve problems by “considering more gratitude” or “trying yoga at sunrise maybe?” (Was a legit suggestion when I had a therapist lol)

Source?

I’m asking because this sounds nothing like CBT that I did. I’m a woman, but it was gut-wrenching and scary to do exposure therapy. Nothing at all about yoga or gratitude… sounds more like traditional talk therapy to me.

I would give CBT a chance, honestly… I feel like you have some kind of misinformed opinion or maybe had a crappy therapist.

snek,

#;dr Because Israel is breaking international law.

snek,

Maybe. Why? Does it bother you if people call out Israel?

snek,

Well, in my defence, a lot of what you are saying IS bullshit.

snek,

It’s funny because in the post they said that anti Israeli content bothers them, but they claim it doesn’t. I think it bothers them a lot. But what should bother them more is apartheid in Israel and genocide in the name of the Jewish people.

snek,

“Claim to be”? You sound like a sad sack of shit.

snek,

No, it won’t. I don’t think I would have made it here today alive without my therapist. There may be companies that have AI agents doing therapy sessions but your qualifications will still be priceless and more effective in comparison.

snek, (edited )

Yeah, but they banned it as a bad way to deal with a water shortage problem. Israel banned it because they are pricks.

Many rural areas with Palestinians, including Palestinian citizens of Israel, aren’t even covered by the Iron Dome system because they are registered as an empty area. They also don’t get basic infrastructure that Israel would otherwise provide to any illegal settlement right away.

That would make Hamas even dumber as bombing Israel would mean a large number of unintercepted missiles will fall into areas where Palestinians live.

snek,

I’m going to be honest here, I’m training a model to detect question dodging in politicians and have only found limited data, so now I’m hoping to get more examples of high avoidance. This is some shameless crowd-sourcing but I hope people are still enjoying the answers.

snek,

Classic evasive maneuver

snek,

Why aren’t you “sure” I’d like it?

snek,

“you don’t want to know, trust me”

snek, (edited )

Which part of that sentence exactly shows I support Hamas? I’m serious, please show me… I don’t call them terrorists for the same treason the BBC doesn’t, and I think their strategies are dumb. The same paragraph above has criticism of Hamas /:

I like how this also brushed over all the posts where I clearly condemn Hamas and their actions.

so where exactly do I support them? Please quote that part, or honestly otherwise just stop this bullshit.

I’m serious, I’m sick of this shit… This is a post is about question dodging on a totally different sub yet people want to go around reading my history, misinterpreting it in a dumb political way, then brining it to a totally different subreddit. Sorry for the big font but I honestly think this is fucking bullshit. Have a shred of self respect. Saying I won’t “like” a piece of data because it doesn’t agree with me ideologically is a big fat nasty claim to be honest, and that quote above of yours is flimsy non-evidence to support it. I think that stinks. And the weakest part is that that was the only paragraph you could find… Guess why… Because I don’t support Hamas /: so you’re not going to find any glorious “evidence”, just more stuff you pull from a tunnel of comments out of context

snek,

Zero evidence, nothing from the footage, another IDF lie to kill kids.

I wasn’t sure they are purely genocidal but my belief has changed now.

snek,

Ah yes let the pro Israelis lecture us on the value of life and uncomfortable truths.

An uncomfortable truth is that Israel is deliberately killing people at this point.

snek,

I wanted to say ah I’ll just let my period roll down my pants who cares, but then zombies might smell the blood so

snek,

I shit you not but one coworker I had dared call himself a data scientist and did something really similar to this but in Python and in production code. He should never have been hired. Coding in python was a requirement. I spent a good year sorting out through his spaghetti code and eventually rebuilt everything he had been working on because it was so bad that it only worked on his computer and he always pip freezes all requirements, and since he never used a virtual environment that meant we got a list of ALL packages he had installed on pip for a project. Out of those 100, only about 20 were relevant to the project.

snek, (edited )

A few members of my team were reviewing codes but lots of PRs could be merged without tests or checks passing and only about 2 people before I joined understood what cicd is, no one else believed in its importance. They thought doing otherwise would “slow down the work precess and waste time, we know what we’re doing anyway!”.

I learned a lot from having to implement best practices and introduce tests in teams that don’t give a fuck or were never required to do it. I’m amazed at the industry standards and fully understand why job ads keep listing git as a requirement.

snek,

Ah yes 50k and on top of them another few thousands in tents with soup pots. And Israel killed a shit ton of them.

snek,

Yeah, this pissed me off. Covid was nothing more than checking on relatives, making sure they don’t die, and yelling over an international phonecall for my aunts to take my aging grandfather to get a vaccine after they tried to wiggle their way out of it several times.

I also got Covid during the time when no one was being tested, only the elderly, and had to live alone in my dorm room with a pile of frozen pizza, using the shared student kitchen at night so as to not get anyone killed. For a few of those days I was completely bed-ridden, couldn’t even get the fuck up, and the Swedish authorities refused to test me because I’m not a risk group. Later on I discovered I have asthma so I was at risk all along.

It’s great that everyone got to make bread and not work as many hours as they usually would or at least save time on transportation, but for a social person who actually has a goddamn life, this was shit. Pure shit. I would never repeat it. I don’t want millions to get sick and die while I stand by the oven with mittens on taking out my sourdough bread slab, surrounded by all these plants.

Ah yes and also, I already have fucking plants. You don’t need the world to end to go buy yourself a few and spend 10 minutes reading about how to care for them. There’s a few apps for that too.

Edit: typo

snek, (edited )

Hey, don’t blame us. It was the money-hungry breathing*-over-your-neck type of managers who tried to make this pushback.

Wow excuse my fucking typo I’m only fucking human*

snek,

“You who only need a keyboard and a screen with internet connection to fulfill your work duties, yes you, stay at the fucking office.”

snek,

Excuse me, is micro-management like a brand new concept to you? Anyway welcome to earth.

snek,

Oh you found a typo, that’s wonderful. Here’s a cookie. I think this is the pettiest I’ve seen on Lemmy so far.

snek,

I think you sound like you’ve had a long day and so do I.

Hamas Official Mousa Abu Marzouk: The Tunnels In Gaza Were Built To Protect Hamas Fighters, Not Civilians; Protecting Gaza Civilians Is The Responsibility Of The U.N. And Israel (www.memri.org)

Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau said in an October 27, 2023 interview that aired on Russia Today TV that the tunnels in Gaza were built to protect Hams fighters from airstrikes, not civilians. He added that Hamas fights Israel from within the tunnels. Abu Marzouq added that since 75% of the residents in...

snek,

What does Jihad mean exactly?

snek,

Thanks. Now what does Jihad mean in the comment made by the person I was replying to?

snek,

Yeah, especially not “plain and simple Jihad” given that “plain and simple Jihad” in Islam actually means any war effort, including stuff like nursing the wounded, writing on social media, trying to pass UN resolutions, etc, basically anything anyone can do, not necessarily taking up arms. Not to mention the word Jihad in Arabic also means “strife”.

How can anyone support them? This is not resistance to occupation, this is plain and simple jihad.

Ah yes how can anyone support them, especially the Muslim population, when I’m right here telling them it’s JIHAD, which Muslims are not intellectually opposed to

(And just as a disclaimer, I’m an ex Muslim, not a Muslim)

snek,

I think that’s also an Islamic hadith

snek,

Nothing, I just added a piece of information. It’s a sahih hadith meaning it’s considered authentic in Islamic texts. It’s some kind of end time prophecy.

snek,

The texts are awful, but most Muslims are alright (like any other group).

snek,

Yeah I agree it’s more of a prophecy but some crazy people will go as far as trying to self-fulfill it. Most people don’t think they would be alive during these events. Otherwise Judaism and its followers are deemed “People of the Book” who have also found the truth like Muslims. At the same time, Islamic history is rife with conflicts with neighboring Jewish tribes. Everyone aside from Muslim followers themselves were opposed to the rise of Islam, including the Jewish tribe of Nani Quryda (and honestly they have a point, Muhammed was out to start a group that would be a new player in the region).

For Hamas, it’s a convenient piece of text that fits their own plight and narrative, but I think almost no one is seriously thinking that Israel is part of this end time prophecy. Israeli propaganda tries to show Hamas as a genocidal group, when the truth we may not like is that they are a resistance group, with questionable strategies and fairly so as with many other resistence group, and their ultimate goal is the liberation of their own country and not a Jewish genocide. If they are willing to hold fair elections in a Palestinian state after this, whatever it may be, then their goals end there. I’m Palestinian and I’m telling you that any attempt by Hamas to displace Israelis who have lived in Palestine for decades would be opposed by me and many others. Never again really means never again. The solution is justice in a fair state for all.

snek,

No evidence for that though

snek, (edited )

It’s not like that stops Israel from butchering civilians anyway, so again how does this work?

To downvoters: It’s a fact that Israel is killing civilians while trying to kill Hamas fighters. After killing nearly 8.5k civilians, they got maybe a couple of dozen of Hamas fighters “dead”, but how would they even be able to confirm it when they aren’t in Gaza? It’s a known indisputable fact that the so-called “human shield” used by Hamas has never stopped and will never stop Israel from shooting or bombing the civlian population.

But again, it’s because “proximity shielding” is something countries made up so they can do genocide or accomplish whatever urban warfare goal while at the same time not giving a single fuck about the lives of civilians or hostages in that area.

snek,

Pretty much, yes. In fact they have caused road problems on two occasions that took days of repair.

snek,

I think there was no intent. I think Israel used proximity shielding like the US did as an excuse to kill civilians.

snek,

No. They don’t have access to their sea borders. They get shot if they go out too far.

snek,

The number of casualities there was 471. 500 is an acceptable estimate.

snek,

Those Gazans with work permits are now being illegally detained in Israel.

snek,

Because it keeps doing so, documented by far too many human rights organizations and bodies already for nothing to have changed.

snek,

Against international law, not that Israel cares

snek,

I said you can’t illegally detain people without charge, not that you can’t take prisoners. A large number of Palestinians are held without charge in Israelz and in the past few weeks that number has sky rocketed with many arbitrary detention.

snek,

Yes being at “war” is totally the best excuse to commit atrocities and get away with it.

snek,

That isn’t an excuse either to kill more than 8 thousand civilians.

snek,

My goalpost went far away from here because this is a trolly conversation getting nowhere. It’s my fault for replying with trolling to trolling comments.
