webadict,

Not to be a naysayer, but there ARE techniques for single digit multiplication and addition. In fact, it’s utilizing some basic principles, like the transitive property.

You can always always breakdown mathematics into smaller bits, like 9+8=(9+1)+7=17, or 7*6=(5+2)*6=30+12=42.

You could even do counting! 1+3 => 1…2,3,4 => 4. Or 3*4 => 3,6,9,12 => 12. There’s lots of shortcuts!

webadict,

If you can’t break down something, memorizing the answer only teaches you the answer to those problems. Each piece of mathematics is a building block that can be used to help understand another part. You are skipping past the part of why 2+2=4 because it seems forthright and immutable. But, memorizing that means that there may come a time when 2+2 isn’t equal to 4, and without the knowledge of how to get there, could you then solve for 2*3?

This seems silly (and maybe a little abstract), but it’s meant more as an example to show why knowing how to break things down could solve bigger problems later on. Learning multiple ways to solve a problem can be really helpful!

It’s really just meant to show that it can be broken down, not that it is faster (because it isn’t).

webadict,

I had people telling me that medical workers didn’t deserve extra pay because it was “expected” that they would work in dangerous situations. Fucking called them heroes but couldn’t afford to pay them what they were owed.

webadict,

I believe this is a reference to the 1986 cult classic film Highlander, in which immortals battle each other to the death through swordfights. The poster implies that, “There can only be one”, a reference to the tagline of the movie, but also implies that they are some form of incel, particularly due to their hate of independent women.

webadict,

Honestly, that strat went out the window once we got the ^. No need to waste time using the Greek keyboard exploit, expecially since the top runner was found to be using macros to emulate anyway.

webadict,

Asking “Why would you do X?” implies heavily that had they not done X, the situation wouldn’t have happened. It is victim blaming.

webadict,

Ah yes, just like Martin Niemöller’s poem:

First they came the trans people, and that was totally okay because there was less of them, so it never affected me.

webadict,

Most people aren’t trans, but anti-trans legislation still affects them. It doesn’t really matter who it affects more, because it is meant as a culture war, but also as a hate tactic to bully people. How do you check that someone is transgender? You really can’t. You could claim they are dressing a certain way that doesn’t match. You could claim they look like they have more of a hormonal type. You could claim they are acting a way that doesn’t match their assigned gender at birth.

But that’s the point. You can pick and choose who to apply this to.

webadict,

He’s the one that frosts the flakes.

webadict,

It was, in fact, a cult. The only people you could reasonably assume were “hostages” were the children that were forced to drink cyanide because they didn’t understand what was happening. You can hear them on the recording.

There were people who left Jonestown that spoke about the practice sessions. Most people were not in any way forced to drink it because they were brainwashed.

webadict,

It’s really convenient that you can simply refuse any information as it being from the government with no proof because it allows you to never be wrong.

webadict,

What the fuck are you talking about?

webadict,

Right, but you never said anything about the people that left Jonestown who talked about their experience. Were they government agents?

webadict,

You’re not pointing at anything.

I’m from the fucking Midwest. Any “young man” that ate the fascist bullshit ate it because they were fed it from their friends and families. It wasn’t the scapegoat “coastal elites” or the “globalists” or the “bankers,” it was a learned behavior. My dad eats that shit and tried to feed it to me and my siblings. My grandpa eats that shit and fed it to my dad and aunt.

If you want to blame anyone, blame Fox for making it so easy for anyone to feast 24/7 on fascism talking points where you turn your brain off. My dad is a smart guy, no question about that. Lots of Republicans are! But that never stopped him or any of them from being a dumb piece of shit loser. Because he chooses to ignore the facts as they are presented to him. He chooses not to know what the 16th Amendment is. He chooses not to understand the costs of education. He chooses to believe the lies that are said to him when you give direct video or picture proof otherwise.

Because if he didn’t, he’d be wrong. And I think he can’t accept being that fundamentally wrong.

webadict,

You were the one that assumed I wasn’t from the Midwest, not I you.

The increasing hostility isn’t the cause of “coastal elites,” though, so it is still misplaced rage. The only one you can reasonably blame for that would be the upper class, which, regardless if you understood it or not, is not the same thing. The term “coastal elite” is a loaded term to target certain types of people. It is, as you already put it, another way to isolate, but also one used by fascists themselves., which is why I put heavy emphasis on your usage of it.

But, yes, I do agree that I am typically a slug of some sort and that my mucus trail is both far and wide.

webadict,

Is pirating stealing? Nothing was taken from YouTube. You could say it’s unauthorized access, or unauthorized duplication of data, but none of that leaves YouTube down any data.

webadict,

You’re a fucking coward and/or a dumbass.

Abortion rights since one party thinks they shouldn’t exist. LGBTQ rights since one party thinks they shouldn’t exist. Labor rights because one party doesn’t want unions to exist or workers to get things like paid vacation or sick time. Child labor laws, because that’s it’s own category because one party thinks that 14 year olds can work 40+ hour work weeks. Free school lunches since one party thinks children in poorer familes should starve. Public education, since one party wants to siphon public funds to private schools through school vouchers. Public education again because one party supports book bans and defunding libraries. Healthcare because one party’s stance on vaccination caused twice as many of them to die during the pandemic. Healthcare again because one party’s stance is to allow insurance companies to be able to discriminate against anyone for any reason by repealing the ACA. Environment because one party has no plans of acknowledging climate change, let alone dealing with it. Environment again because one party wants to dismantle protections that limit pollution emitted into our air, water, and land. Healthcare a third time because one party wants to dismantle protections on food and medicines that would stop people from being poisoned. Labor rights again because one party wants to dismantle protections on workers that would stop them from being injured or dying.

webadict,

I have a buddy who helps out with fires on another island. Their department asked if help was needed during the fires and was denied multiple times. My buddy says it was probably bad training, which seems to fit with a lot of the story. Lots of disasters happen because of bad training.

webadict,

But you just said you don’t agree with him.

webadict,

You can make it even cheaper by securing yourself a parcel of unclaimed land, stealing some animals, building a small shack, and then growing all the vegetables yourself!

A cheeseburger from McDonald’s is $2 × 3 = $6. You can buy a large fries for $3 and split it. Steal handfuls of ketchup and salt. $9 to feed your family of three. You can even buy a large soda and split it, ya bourgeoisie fuck, and it took you no energy or time to cook it, instead of the 1+ hour it took to make yours.

webadict,

So, how can you say you agree when you literally didn’t watch it, and if you had, you would literally know you don’t agree.

The answer to your question is food deserts.

webadict,

So, again, you still don’t agree, but said you agree, which is a lie, so how can I believe anything you say when you don’t post sources?

webadict,

1 in 6 people are effectively homeless, lol, now let me use my refridgerator to cook.
