This actually gave me an idea. Over break I wanted to practice dB design and entity framework. Designing a database and interface for santa to track kids naughty or nice could be a fun/interesting way of doing it.
I think you would have a table of “activities” with a value of how good/bad each is. So like cleaning your room would be +5 but crying in a store because mommy wouldn’t buy you a toy would be - 15. Then you have a table for children and each child starts with 0 in January and then for each activity the child does there naughty/nice value gers adjusted. December 24 Santa runs a query on the dB and gets a list of every child with a positive value.
Keep in mind I currently feel sick and put about 5 minutes of thought into thus.
Actually I think there should be a intermediary table as a history of activities of each child. Like child table is I’d, name, age, address, and naughty/nice value, activities would be Id, description, and good/bad value. Then a history table of ID, child_id, activity_id. So santa can recalculate a child’s naughty/nice value to “check it twice”
As long as your not a former roommate of mine. He would calculate price per slice of bread and buy the cheapest. He would do this for everything and would take hours shopping…
I understand where you come but I do sympathize with him(he had 4 kids from 2 mother’s so money was always tight). He took FOREVER shopping though.
One time we went shopping together, I got all my food, checked out, drove home, put all my food away, took a shower, watched a show on Netflix, drove back to the store and he said “almost done, 10 more minutes”…
For years I’ve contemplated the idea if I came into a bunch of money if starting a porn studio where the customer is an actor/actress in the porn.
We have a building and several “sets” with cameras recording, customer picks their “partner” and “set” and “shoot the porn”, after they are done the video is burned on to a dvd(or blue ray or potentially put on a private file server).
The customer isn’t paying for sex, they are paying for the video.
Pretty sure it would have a ton of legal push back and I would need a lot of money for the lawyers to fight the cases.
But 1. Safer for everyone imvolved(it’s video taped so you won’t beat/hurt/kill the other party) 2.technically legal just like shooting porn
So… Microbiologists are on average mass murders to degrees Hitler ghangis khan and Mao combined couldn’t even come close to… Got it. Staying away from anyone in the micro lab at work from now on.

The change in people is amazing. That said your estimate is not far off for cost of just the implantable generators, plus the leads. Add on cost of surgery and doctors bills and hospital stays and your probably under estimating.
Not to mention typically it’s the last choice for pain treatment, so it’s a the end of typically years of pain. Also it only lasts for about a dacade due to the battery so you will need to repeat the surgery and buy a new device periodically.
You are almost completely correct. It does have wireless charging but like your cell phone eventually the life of a rechargeable battery wears and needs to be replaced.
That you are wrong about the last part. Our latest two generations actually use ipads for the doctors and iphones for the patient. I don’t know too much about the security on them as that’s my area of knowledge. That said unlike a pacemaker our devices don’t keep people alive. They lessen movement disorders and reduce pain but people won’t die if they get turned off.

One thing I always wondered is what counts as “management”?
For example I’m in manufacturing (not looking to start a union, my job treats me fairly well but I support them) and we have “team leads” who technically “manage” people but are very low on the totem pole.
We have supervisors who are higher, about the same as engineers, who “manage” the leads.
The we have directors and managers who basically run their whole group.
The it goes up to vps and divisional vps and eventually CEO and board of directors.
Where does “management” start? Really below vps/dvps everyone is just following orders. They may be following orders but with much more lead way. I can see a case that anyone who “manages” another person, even at a team lead level" could be counted as management and that just doesn’t seem fair.
I’m an idiot, I didn’t even think of sub like in bdsm. I thought it was a bunch of people talking about cumming on the sandwiches or fucking the sandwiches.
Yeah but it didn’t answer the question of “can you connect them?”.
Others in this thread have said yes but chat gpt ignored the question and replied with a description of the question. It’s easy for a model like this to determine what a model name means(it seems complicated to humans but there is a logic to their naming).
A bank recently shut down the accounts of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ media company, citing unauthorized transactions — a move that caused panic at the business when its balances suddenly dropped from more than $2 million to zero, according to a lawyer for the company....
Yes he is an asshole. Yes he deserves to lose all his money. Yes he should/has to pay the victims of sand hook.
My question is what happens to the money in the account? Can the bank just say we are not willing to do business with you anymore and keep it?
If this was me or you, can a bank just deny you access to the money in your account?
I would think… And I am no expert… They could say “we don’t want your business anymore, take the money out of your accounts within 30 days or it’s forfiet” or something. But to think the bank can just close the account and keep the money seems really bad in my eyes.
I didn’t but a former supervisor of mine did. He was a good leader and manager.
My company gives a discount on health insurance if you have a yearly physical and answer a survey. They bring in a company, setup in a large room, you make an appointment, go to the room they do a physical and you get a discount the next year.
One year my appointment was right after my boss. They drew blood, tested it and the nurse said “that can’t be right”, she did it a second time the called over another nurse. Second nurse said “that’s not possible, you must of done something wrong” and did a third test. After that they call over the doctor who wanted to retest but they said they already tested him 3 times. HR was brought in and he was basically told to go to a doctor the next day and not to return to work till he was seen by a doctor.
He went to the doctor and when he came back to work asked to be removed from supervisor and put on the line as a regular worker.
His doctor basically told him the stress from the job was killing him, he could either have the job or keep living. He choose life and asked to be demoted.
The main difference to my knowledge between an ad blocker and pihole is while a ad blocker downloads the ad but doesn’t show it a pihole blocks it from being downloaded.
In addition you can block anything(not just ads) so if you want to say block reddit you could add *.reddit.com to the block list and it will block it even though it’s not a ad service.
I’m from new jersey too but the northern part(Sussex county). Most of the stuff I heard was more weird things than actual folklore.
For example there was the toilet in the woods. Off of rt 23 if you pull over at a specific spot in the middle of no where, walk about 1/2 a mile into the woods there was a toilet. No outhouse or Porta potty. Just a toilet out in the woods. Weird thing is it had to be connected to a water source and sewer because it worked, you could flush it and everything.
There was also the pyramids off Clinton road. Just square based pyramids made of brick in the woods, no idea why they are there or what there purpose is/was. There was also stories of kkk on Clinton road so if you saw a car with a headlight out and you flashed your lights to alert them they would chase you and run you off the road(pretty sure this was just stupid highschoolers being bored and assholes).
Yup, I used to love that magazine. There’s also the stuffed bears on the telephone poles. Again on rt 23 there is I think about a 5 mile long stretch with stuffed teddy bears on the top of all the telephone poles. Snow, thunderstorms whatever causes them to fall in a day or two they are put back.
Once a car ran into one of the poles, they had to replace the pole and 2days later there was a new teddy bear on top of the pole.
That would be “did you know lemmy has a cool security feature that will automatically hide your password? For example my password is *************” but all you see is astricks. Go ahead, try it"
To my admittiddly basic knowledge they never specify height to floor size or sisyphus’s boulder size. So if he has a big enough boulder and the hotel is infinitely tall with 1 room per floor he could take out the building with just rolling through a single weight bearing wall.
There are jokes you probably missed too. For example Trey bole up with his girl friend the week before making the movie, so they named the horse after her.
When they wake up in the Indian village and they are practicing karate. They didn’t have any native Americans in their film school but had plenty of asain students.
If the claims are true and we can make it cheap enough… Change all electronics. You know all the fans in your computer? That’s because heat is radiating off the silicon causing wasted power and limiting the amount of transistors possible based on cooling available.
All of our power lines(especially the long distance ones) are high voltage because of power loss in the copper, that’s why there are local transformers in your neighborhood (these failing are a common cause of neighborhood black outs).
Want a electric car with high efficiency? Alot of heat is wasted by the copper windings in the motor. That goes away and range would increase dramatically.
Again this is all assuming the claims are legit and we can manufacture it at a decent price.
