The most obvious example in the current conversation is lemmygrad hosting a sub called Ukraine war news that has 0 news on active events in Ukraine. Every post is meant to shape your thoughts using bad faith information presentation.
You wrote out your legitimate thoughts and included all details you find viable to discuss. These users know they are participating in bad faith and do so intentionally.

Remnant 2 has been a blast. I do wish there was 1 more world in it to make it feel a little more full, but I love every moment of these games.

As an older dude, I think it’s more about how people choose to live. I’m one of the DINK couples so the wife and I love gaming together.
Both working full time, go on camping trips, play tennis, and still manage to be a part of a destiny clan who we have cleared all the raids with.
We just beat Diablo 4 together (then dropped it due to the patch and garbage 1st season lol).
I get how some people need more contained experiences, but I can not stand games that are too contained or basic.
There are exceptions like party games (gang beasts, Mario party, etc), but for the most part I need my games to be engaging.
I did a little bit of game development in college and have played games all my life, so sometimes I feel like I’m somewhat sensitive to certain designs. It’s hard to put into words, but a bad animation/game mechanic that might bother a different person like 2/10 might bother me more like an 8/10.
Some mixture of the above information and my ADHD need for stimulation keeps me away from the smaller games.

Personally, I strongly disagree if you do think so. Even if every Lemmy user drove 0 traffic to reddit, it would change very little of their day to day engagement.
It’s important in the long term to move away from reddit and reduce engagement of the site, but the cost benefit ratio of fucking up the marketability of r/place strongly outweighs the effect users would have engaging the site.
I respect the mental health boundaries you need, but not all of us have that conflict* (trying to find a word that does not sound demeaning, I am not a wordist sorry).
For me, yes I’m upset that reddit is a burning shithole, but it weighs on my mind no more than leaving myspace, Icanhascheeseburgers, ragecomics, 4chan, Facebook, or any of the other numerous forums and social media sites I have split from.

Its dead after the story. They nuked endgame content imo.
Was not happy with the patch notes but signed in with my 4 friends. We beat the start of the new season stuff, then immediately saw how shit the season was about to be.
Basically after 2 short missions, you do NMD only. Helltide is worse than useless, which sucks because it was my favorite solo casual grind for endgame.
All 5 of us were off the game within an hour. We decided to go back to playing old games. 2 of us went back to playing Diablo 2 lol.
