lud,

My main problem with the steam deck is probably portability and battery life. I have used it very seldom on the train to work, but I imagine it would be very cumbersome.

I will try it again when I am finally done with TOTK on my switch.

And then there is always the question: Is the steam deck really an unique gaming platform when it’s really just a small laptop.

lud,

Bruh, did you really star wars theme a weapon?

lud, (edited )

That sucks.

I have always liked the Swedish AK5 (modified FN FNC) and the PSG90 (Artic Warfare).

These new weapons don’t look as good and feel a bit boring.

Well at least they are manufactured in Finland and not in the USA.

lud,

I will admit that the blaster looks pretty cool. But I will probably always feel a bit weird about weapons being played with and customised in that way.

Like, if I saw a weapon like that I would assume it’s for cosplay and not for killing people.

It’s not very likely that I will ever see a weapon like that though since weapons are strictly controlled where I live. So outside of museums and military contexts, the only weapons I have seen are hunting rifles.

lud,

Go to another instance then. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

lud,

Yeah, just took at his more recent thumbnails and titles. It feels like just ragebait. He is just angry at everything.

I stopped watching his videos when he started to put some effort into making clickbait thumbnails, because I felt the videos became much worse.

lud,

You guys are not federated with lemmy.world‽

Doesn’t that exclude a LOT of content?

lud,

Hard to name anything specific, it’s just that most of the content I see scrolling through the feed is from lemmy.world communites or users.

lud,

It helps against stupid automated attacks though.

If someone has changed the port it’s likely that they have set up a great password or disabled password auth all together.

It’s worth it for just having cleaner logs and fewer attempts.

lud,

Neither Sweden or the UK have that many knife related deaths (I couldn’t find any good non death statistics).

lud,

Probably Denmark considering the name and one comment they made referring to Denmark.

I feel sorry for them.

lud,

Eh the site was always shit anyways. 🤷

lud,

Yeah, it’s weird that people say that when visual studio 20XX is windows only and the most popular IDE (IIRC).

lud,

My excuse is that it’s a waste. There is no point in doing that unless you want to do something that you are not allowed to do like hop regions or something.

lud,

VPNs doesn’t really improve security in a way that usually matters.

Nearly all web traffic is already encrypted.

VPNs absolutely have their uses (like accessing remote networks, bypassing firewalls and censorship, piracy) but they are not needed for just using all the time.

lud,

Microsoft has the ability to decrypt all web traffic on Windows at will due to their preinstalled cert,

I am gonna need a source for that.

EU is going to install their certs on every computer and make it illegal for browsers to uninstall or untrust them.

You sure? Are you talking about the encryption thing? That was (of course) rejected.

lud,

You can own it though.

Physical media still exists.

lud,

True but you can easily rip it.

lud,

As long as the content is manually overseen before being handed to students I can’t see why it would matter.

A school question is a school question no matter who or what made it.

lud,

Here is their justification:

In order to maintain security for our users, the Authy application does not allow importing or exporting 2FA account tokens.

Users who want to import or export their tokens can follow this process:

  1. Login to the desired online account with your existing 2FA token.
  1. Disable 2FA in the app’s site.
  2. Re-enable 2FA again in the app’s site.
  3. Scan the QR code, optionally write the Authentication Key, this time on the desired 2FA App.

lud,

Walking very close to someone’s home is also illegal with the right to roam. The right to roam just gives everyone the right to walk were they want except in someone’s garden. You can also camp anywhere (gardens excluded of course) for a day (or two can’t remember) without asking anyone for permission.

One kinda surprising thing is that everyone is allowed to enter fenced animal pastures, provided that they aren’t malicious and that they close the gate.

It’s an amazing right that should exist in the entire world.

lud,

Trespassing isn’t really an issue here so why would it be an issue there?

If it’s legal now, then passing a law country wide would be no issue.

I am just of the opinion that this should be right everywhere regardless of where you live in the world.

Btw, I am just curious, is it rare in the USA to see berry and mushroom pickers? That’s included in the rights so we do have a lot of them.

lud,

Sizes don’t matter.

I don’t get why you are so against it when it apparently wouldn’t change anything because you have so much land anyways.

Just give everyone the freedom to walk wherever they want. It doesn’t hurt anyone.

lud,

It’s possible that your work has problems with spam and has thus set up their own spam filter and that filter might be more aggressive.

There are also ways to change the spam filtering in m365 mail.

It’s also possible that your work hasn’t setup mail properly and protonmail is the one that rejects the mails. We had an issue at work where OOF auto replies didn’t work to external gmails (and probably others) because Gmail rejected the emails (I had confirmed that Gmail was the one that rejected it via the email traces in exchange). That wasn’t Microsoft’s fault.

I can send stuff to my proton mail without issues from two different Microsoft 365 mails.

One missed email should not be interpreted as malicious intent. It’s also honestly quite likely someone just misspelled or something.

lud,

Update: Emails from Tutanota.com no longer go to Spam in Outlook.

lud,

The European Union is a union and not a country, the EU is pretty irrelevant here since there are lots of Europeans that don’t live in a member country. There are lots of cultural differences and languages.

Of course everyone in Europe is European but generalising Europeans that really doesn’t have that much in common (except living in Europe) is most often pretty stupid. Europe is very diverse in culture, climate, economy, politics, etc.

lud,

Imagine thinking anything that’s pretty much 300 years old is anywhere close to the rest of the world.

lud,

Wtf are you talking about?

lud,

Spotify doesn’t really have ads. Only the horrible free plan does and you are obviously not supposed to use it. It’s designed to be as bad as possible to make people switch.

While YouTube is alright for music it’s very inconvenient compared to Spotify. The same multiplied by 100x applies to downloading all your music.

lud,

Software patents are weird but normal patents are reasonable in my opinion.

lud,

You are probably talking about the arctic vault.

They use film for extreme archival purposes that are not representative of anything normal.

Qr codes can be great but they obviously need to interact somehow (not directly I hope) with a real database.

lud,

Churches?

I guess I am used to churches being hundreds of years old.

lud, (edited )

It should be noted that the court only ruled that Tesla should be allowed to pick up the plates themselves from the manufacturer.

A different court said today that the postal company PostNord doesn’t have to deliver the licence plates that PostNord already has picked up from the manufacturer, which they usually do at the end of each day.

If I remember correctly Tesla is mainly concerned about the 20 or so plates that are currently stuck in the postal network.

PostNord has 3 days to make a statement and then the court will take it up again and make a decision.

The Union is happy about the decision.

  • An interview with PostNord and Seko and someone else I can’t remember.
lud,

I agree, but the warehouse workers are probably also in the union so I don’t know how that would work.

lud,

I want a simulator game like lawnmower simulator, power washing simulator, euro truck simulator, and other games like that, where you plow snow from an area. Seems like it could be fun.

I like plowing real snow but that is fucking exhausting, cold, and can’t be done year around.

I have no idea if it would be fun or not but maybe.

There is a game under development that’s kinda like the one I want but it’s very pre alpha at the moment and I want more areas and less roads. store.steampowered.com/app/1536910/Snow_Plow/

lud,

Neat, thanks!

I hope it will be decent.

lud,

Yeah, and they use that specific postal company because it’s the biggest in Sweden and is government owned.

lud,

No, but I will admit that Tesla should be allowed to go and physically collect the licence plates themselves. Otherwise it would be like the government is encouraging the strike which is not ideal when they shouldn’t be involved at all.

And a court also decided that yesterday.

lud,

Not even Minecraft?

I guess they could play the java edition.

lud,

That’s fair. I agree that it might not be a good idea to introduce them to bedrock, at least before they gain some more impulse control.

lud,

I am not trans or anything, but I expected that most would want a name change to move away from their old identity or something.

lud,

Can you then share it to everyone using namedrop that’s not in your contacts?

lud,

That sounds very bad actually.

lud,

How does it do that? Could you explain?
