Looking for something a little different so playing mudrunners

code,

I rather like the honesty of it

code,

I get what youre saying but to me there is far too much sugarcoating today. I much prefer being a bit more honest. That doesnt mean be an asshole though.

code,

my god I am old. we had an odysee…

code,

I hit 28 books this year and am trying for 30. All pleasure reading for what suits my fancy at the time. Been trying to read all the walter isaacson books. One serious boo and two/three fun.

I think 30-32 is my limit though else i wont get other stuff done

code,

Id like to see the power consumption figures for benches

code,

efficiency will significantly depend on TDP, as the two Meteor Lake chips are only more efficient than the Ryzen 7 7840HS with a power consumption of 30 watts or more. At 15 watts, the Ryzen 7 7840HX was about 30% more efficient than the Core Ultra 7 155H, and that probably means Meteor Lake won’t be the processor of choice for handheld gaming PCs like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally.

code,

Also if your on the charity board etc you can use the funds for “marketing” or “admin fees”. Its a quite common scam that crappy charities only donate like 5% of donations

code,

Heroic does all of that. You login to the store. I claim the free games inside it every week. And shit just works.

Also does gog and amazon. Great software

code,

i bought a beelink n100 and love it. samba/paperless-ngx work fine. Immich is a heavy load doing all the ml stuff so if you have a large photo library itll take a while

code,

Sco xenix way back when was required for work. I decided to run it on my desk Then i had to work on sun machine for a few years. So ive really never been a windows person except for games. Once wine then proton atrted letting me game even a little then i got rid of every windows install i had and replaced with linux

code,

Whats a good begnner nix yt or blog etc. I just got a beelink n100 i want to use as my guinnea pig with nix

code,

Thanks. Been running ubuntu as daily driver for 10 years and looking to change it up. I hate snap and where its going. So good as time as any. Will move desktop eventually if i like it enough as long as i can game as easy (amd/amd) via steam.

code,

God i hate network manager and the vpnc plugin specifically. Its been broken for almost 2 years. You cannot add a vpnc vpn in network manager.

code,

Except for parts of it that are broken

code,

What distro? Might be gnome only. Im on latestest budgie and cant add. Theres github issues etc. I can edit the file by hand and it works so no biggie but its a long standing issue

Free software in education will take a step back -- republicans are going after school board positions nationwide in the US (web.archive.org)

Since last year, republicans have launched a campaign to get conservatives on school boards. This is the political party in the US who favors privatization of everything. They are sympathetic to giant corporations and champion #citizensUnited (which elevates corporations above humans). #Ohio has a large number of extremists...

code,

Thats a stretch. You have any ya know sources on that or just pulling it out of your ass.

code,

I was more interested in the blatent political attack that some conservatives hurt foss in education.

code,

Having slot of fun with cocoon right now

Solving Steam Deck Shader Storage with a 61.44TB SSD (www.storagereview.com)

The essence of this unconventional amalgamation lies in its absurdity. We chose the Solidigm P5336 enterprise SSD, offering a staggering 61.44TB capacity. While the capacity is amazing, it leverages an enterprise U.2 form factor, which is problematic given the Steam Deck’s M.2 slot. As such, an M.2 to external U.2 adapter from...

code,

my steam library and all dlc is just over 10tb. Thats for 976 games. I need to step up my game

code,

I did this for my dad and my mother in-law. They love their watch and all of us feel a little better with them wearing it. Inlaw has fallen twice while gardening (tripped) and we got notified. Really happy with them

code,

Its thier typical bullshit. They are the epitome of trust me bro and failing.

code,

Yea im routinely in the 200’s

code,

No experience with egu on them. But they are phenomenal linux boxes. Ive got 5 running my homelab with those exact specs. Stick an ssd in there and golden. Its a bot of a pita but not hard.

Otherwise (i do this on one of them) boot off an external thunderbolt ssd

Gamers who have gamed for a long time

do you find it difficult to get into games? I’ve got Epic Games and Steam Games libraries chock-full of classic top-tier games along with many other newer games like Stray or 2077, and a bunch of indie titles. I just can’t be bothered to download and install them, much less try to get into the characters and storylines. Used...

code,

Im 56 and loving the gaming time. In fact my kids are scattered and i play game with them at least every other week. We shoot the shit and just chill. No sweaty games as i dont have the reflexes anymore. I just wish there was more coop

code,

I was just looking at that today. Im in my search to leave ubuntu after 10 years

code,

Got 15 pro and watch 9. Upgrading from an 11 and no watch. Pretty excited

code,

From reading the github for proton it looks like there a good number of bugs in the latest drivers. Pwople have had success running with older driver but ahit performance.

Im running in proton with experimental on a 6700xt on high and have no issues at all. I dis have to install newer vulkan driver ppa. Ibuntu base drivers are old

Why are people hyped about RSS regaining relevance? (lemmy.world)

According to Google Trends, during the past few years, there has been nothing but a few minor bumps that faded away as quickly as they came. I love RSS because i do not have to scroll through dozens of different news sites all day and i would love it to return....

code,

i have lemmy for that. My rss feeds are extremely curated and very specific to want i know i want to read about,

code,

for the mods that are out its just easy to install myself. I really dont like the mod managers and prefer to handle it myself. Although it does get unruly with bigger mods and dependancies

code,

paywall links should not be allowed

code,

If you cant be arsed to post the text when crossposting then dont crosspost. Its useless

code,

And thats the good way to do it

code,

Nexusmods already have a bunch of performance ini tweaks. Its very much like fo4 and Skyrim. Same cheat codes too in console

code,

Im on proton with amd cpu and 6700xt. Once i updated my mesa drivers I have had 0 issues or crashes. Running on high with fsr at 60%. Before I updated mesa i couldnt go 5 min without a crash at the mine where the digger broke through the wall it crashed every single time.

code,

Same engine mostly
