WalrusDragonOnABike,

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Rat pregnant. Humans have less pregnancies.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Being always visibly happy sounds annoying.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

He happens to know the whole cast

Alright, I'm gonna "take one for the team" -- what is with the "downvote-happy" users lately?

Title. “lmao internet points” and all, but what is the point of participating in a community that sees assumptions and other commonly non-harmful commentaries/posts as “bad” this easily? Do folks in here are really that needy of self-validation, even if it means seeking such from something completely insignificant like...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

One of the most common I downvote comments is including things like "Edit: why all the downvotes?" in topics that aren't about the voting system (instinctually downvoted this topic, but un-downvoted), . But also just downvote things things are spammy, *phobic, defending genocides, etc.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Most of the time, it feels like people are just saying "yall are just mad cause I'm right" but using different words because its often obvious why: an unpopular opinion or believed to be objectively false. These comments already have plenty of replies explaining why their comment is bad in some way. The only cases where there should be confusion about why is is if you are posting in a community that gets the same comments all the time and so its spam and you don't know it, or you said something that is being misinterpreted but for whatever reason you are unable to tell why and you haven't gotten any replies already (but for some reason are paying close attention to your internet points).

WalrusDragonOnABike,

White and I've always called my moms by their first names. Makes it less confusing.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

My last trip to the DMV was surprisingly smooth. They finally implemented appointments, and, unlikely private doctors, they didn't make me wait in the lobby for 30minutes to 1 hour and then in the examination room for another 15-30 minutes.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

It might be about what his grandpa will do to Pyr if Pyr doesn't go to walmart for him.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Got 0.05% of she/her/hers, which has 29.9k monthly listeners.~4k minutes

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Why do you think billionaires become billionaires? They were already messed up before the money and had no morals to stop them from doing immoral things to get it.

If I knew I'd never be caught, I'd hope I would do things that billionaire brown-nosers think is immoral. But it's things I believe are moral. Like reclaiming stolen wealth from billionaires.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Not out to my mom, but I deal with similar issues. Sometimes she's clearly tries to be supportive and other times the opposite. In her case, I think how much she's been drinking is a decent predictor. Additionally, I think she has her own gender issues.

Sorry you have to deal with that.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

No matter the infrastructure, it takes a while to go 15 miles each way. Granted, its more consistent (with an ebike at least). At the extreme end, the drive to work has taken over 2 hours once. So biking would have been much faster. Most days is like 15-20 minutes for the drive vs 55-65 minutes for the bike ride

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I got a pair from a hospital, so I have that excuse for that pair...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Finally chose the girl character when I was away in college and figured it was less likely people would know. Of course next time I see my best friend, he wants to trade pokemon and teased me for using a girl character with a feminized version of my name. Was almost a decade later when I considered I might not be cis.

Anyone else feels like they want to destroy their old sim and never give their contact to anyone ever again?

If signal gets the new username feature, this just might be what i do, so fricking tired of people just blindly giving random apps and websites their contact permissions and they get my contact as well, and there’s nothing i can do about it

WalrusDragonOnABike,

How much longer does "iron lobster" have?

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I still prefer when people do that if it after people already replied. Especially if those typos were significant enough to cause misunderstandings. The whole chain just becomes confusing if you fix them without any edit log.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Probably just RNG tear in the fabric of space-time. Definitely no causes.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Pedos aren’t into young looking people, they are into young people. The whole point is that they aren’t an adult, aren’t mature in the head, etc.

Not really. Different pedos are attracted to different aspects of prepubescence, but a common part of it is attraction to the physical features. The age isn't really relevant to that. There's some who dislike children and want nothing to do with them; they just happen to have an attraction to those physical features typical of prepubscent children. OTOH, there's some people who considered themselves pedophiles and also asexual.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I've never once noticed someone's body odor. On the other hand, some who just finished showering using a fruity shampoo reeks imo. Ditto for people who use perfume or cologne. And those often can also cause allergies for many people...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Been to middle school. Can't say BO was a problem. Axe body spray OTOH? Definitely was.

Can confirm lack of experience with sex.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Can't be worse than someone with cologne sitting between you and a fan...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Lucky you. No wonder you think BO is bad if you didn't have to deal with much worse...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I've seen the claim that in the manga is more explicit? But manga doesn't have music, so I'll never know for sure.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Same. I sure didn't vote for Trump either. But all of the people who I know who voted trump still got Biden. Literally 100%. Probably anecdotal or maybe the people I know got swapped with a multiverse counterpart who did vote Biden but have the memories of this universe's version.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I wonder what they plan to do to the south...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Was expecting the same and I didn't even know they switched to torx. Philips screws are bad. I go out of my way and spend extra money to avoid them.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

For some, if they admit that gender isn't fixed, they'd have to admit they waste so much of their live not transitioning. Sometimes its easier to double down when you're wrong for so long.

For some men, its probably mostly about sexism. They have so little going for them personally that they latch on to things like "being manly" (or "white pride") to compensate for their insecurities. If "men" choose to be women, then that's seen as an attack on the superiority of being a man and to maintain the exclusivity, you also can't allow "women" to become men but at least "women" wanting to be men supports the belief in superiority of men. One reason why trans women are demonized more than trans men by some transphobes.

For some women, its probably similar to how some minorities because even more prejudiced against some other minority that is seen as even "worse" than them to join with the majority. Like racism against black people by Irish when they weren't considered white or homophobia among racial minorities.

For others, its just parroting their bubble.

Some, just because they expect to be able to get away with it.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

True, that too. But that's partly an issue because they don't see them as their gender to begin with and are also homophobic. And homophobia generally also ties back into sexism.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Someone is free to only date people who don't do office work, but its their job to communicate that requirement and what they'd consider crossing that line. You shouldn't be expected to consult your partner before filling out some paperwork at work and there shouldn't be some societal-wide expectation that you would inform them of the work.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Selling a photo isn't really prostitution in the way people usually use it. No physical contact, no risk of STDs, no commitment to anons purchasing, it doesn't count.

If you put a lot of time into it or doing it more long-term or they're expecting you to be somewhere and you're gonna be late, sure. If it's a one-time thing that takes a very short amount of time, it's insignificant enough to not matter whether or not you mention it. That's not hiding anything more than not telling them you tied your shoes that day is hiding something.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I've never seen the image before, but the "threat of violence" was obviously a joke comment like the rallying call to "elect Biden so we can force feminize the cissy men." In case you didn't know, that's also a joke. Its very different from threats to take a vehicle (whether a truck or a steamroller) to a pride event and use it on people, for example.

If you can't understand context or jokes, maybe don't make inflammatory remarks about an entire group of people based on one person's comment with confidence without at least asking first. Nothing wrong with taking things too literally, but weaponizing your lack of understanding isn't the answer. Of course a lot of people do make veiled threats (in minecraft) when they actually are encouraging violence, so we should be careful about language and surely there's cases in the middle where it could go either way, in which case calling out the language without insinuating it was intentional or representative of a larger group could be appropriate unless there's a clear pattern...

WalrusDragonOnABike,

They want everyone to be cis, so obviously everyone else wants people to be in their groups too!

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Unfortunately a lot of people, many probably well-intentioned, push the narrative of trans people who always knew or always were gender non-confirming with respect to their AGAB as a way of trying to show of being trans is something that is ingrained in people from very early on to try to convince cis people that trans people are actually the gender they say they are. The side effect means those who don't fit the stereotypes have a harder time, both with realizing they can be trans and with convincing others they are who they say they are. (It also sometimes leads to cis people who are gender nonconforming to get labeled as "eggs")

Don't let those stereotypes get you down.

Anyways, congrats coming out to your parents, even if it feels bad now. Long-term its probably for the better. Not that I can say from experience.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

If you live in 44 out of 50 states, congratulations. Your electoral vote basically has 0% chance of mattering. Vote for who you like the most.

If you live in 1 of the of the other 6 states, congrats, your vote has like a 0.01% chance of mattering, but if enough people follow that line of thinking it might actually matter, so probably consider who you vote for more seriously because (even though I won't vote for someone like Biden) I still would prefer bidet winning over turnip.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

All you need is a series of rackets, balls, nets, tables of various sizes, and a giant court that you can paint onto and you can do it was any rng generator.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

An old constitution can't control a new one. Its literally replacing the old one. Nothing it says is relevant.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

The 14th amendment in the US and the 1864 election happened in war time.

Changes can be made during war time. An old constitution saying you can't is irrelevant.

A new constitution that is identical to the old one except it takes away dictatorial powers from those passing the constitution wouldn't be sketchy at all.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I don't really care. Irrelevant to my point, which has nothing to do with Zelensky or Ukraine.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

The people are the foundation of a country. Religious documents are just excuses.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

So, in your opinion - in order for Zelensky to not be a dictator, he has to break all the existing rules of law in order to completely replace the existing constitution?

Not unilaterally, no. The constitution establishes a dictatorship, therefore it would need to be replaced or amended to no longer have a dictator. Alternatively, they could rescind martial law, thereby ending suspension of elections and no longer be a dictatorship. And that would be required to allow them to amend the current constitution following its rules. Not saying any of those are good ideas. Just listing the options they have to not be a dictatorship (technically he could just step down as well, but that wouldn't change their government structure; just change who the dictator is).

Not his fault he's a dictator. But dictator literally refers to someone who rules in time of emergency. So by definition he's a dictator. I don't mean it as a personal insult of the person who happens to be in the position nor am I saying its outrageous for someone to keep such a position.

He’s not a fucking monarch dude, he’s the elected head of state - he doesn’t have supreme authority to do whatever the fuck he feels like.

Which is irrelevant to the question of whether he's a dictator or not. Don't forget that the first dictator most people probably think of was also an elected head of state. Obviously I'm not comparing the actions that the two did using that position. Simply being a dictator doesn't say anything about whether their rule is justified or whether they're committing atrocities. I do think leaving the loophole in the constitution is a liability, so it eventually should be changed. But its not exactly a high priority right now.

And that’s all putting aside the question of how you would even hold an election in war ravaged Ukraine right now, a significant portion of which is under hostile occupation lol

Irrelevant, since my critique actually has nothing to do with Ukraine, but about constitutions in general.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

The person I replied to cited a constitution. My reply is about constitutions. Anything after that is a discussion about constitution where people keep bringing up Ukraine for some reason.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Twelve states were occupied by the confederacy and simply excluded from the US elections and the amendment process.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

Why is it so important to you that they don’t follow their laws?

I don't care if they don't have an election right now. Its fine with me if they don't. My complaint is using "the constitution says so" to justify things like dictatorships as if its a real argument rather than simply begging the question. I don't even like when people use it as if it were an argument for things like being pro-freedom of speech. Its simply deflection.

WalrusDragonOnABike,

They aren't. But people treat them like they are. I do care about people using constitutions as if they were moral documents. I'd be just as annoyed if someone used a constitution to defend something like freedom of press or freedom of speech. I don't care about what the particular issue is: its the citing constitutions like they prescribes perfect morals that I care about.
