IMHO there is nothing wrong with the N word used in an history lesson. On the contrary, I think it’s especially important to show younger generations how evil some our ancestors were.

That being said, I really have never visited a country where race is mentioned as frequently as in the US.

In many European countries I have visited it just didn’t seem relevant.

Sometimes it’s not just a cliché or a prejudice against a nation, it’s just how it is.

I have no doubt at least that the peculiar history of the US has shaped the way racial discourse is prevalent or not in that society.

I think it’s pointless to ask on Lemmy for an accurate depiction of the importance of race in the american society. You may say it’s too reductive but I think it’s a more productive conversation than your comment. I would much rather have someone politely argue and explain that I’m wrong rather than calling my comment “almost pointless” and basically presenting it as some outlandish and prejudiced caricature of the US.

The “your comment is too reductive and therefore is pointless” could probably be applied to every posts in there. Just saying.

I’m not speaking of this project in particular.

Just saying, just because something is open source doesn’t mean it has no vulnerability or backdoor in it’s code.

There is plenty of example of vulnerabilities that existed for years in major open source projects. And there is definitely people that discover some zero day and straight up sell them and stay quiet.

If you look at some of the businesses in the market of zero day vulns you can see what they offer for good vulns.

Who cares if the NSA uses it. Or if they say they use it. They gain nothing in saying they use a specific product. But that’s a good way to encourage others to use it. I certainly wouldn’t trust the NSA on anything they say publicly.

You can backdoor a product just for you and still release it so other people you might be interested in will give you cool data. In cryptography this is not really an issue to have backdoors that only some people can use.

Le problème c’est que tous le monde se plein du prix qui augmente mais pas grand monde ne résilie.

Oh you have good revenue but don’t want to give your paycheck over the last two years ? Ok let me put that folder with your name on it and put it where it belongs at the bottom of the pile.

A lot of things you have to give are illegal to ask to renters.

On the other hand the law here in France seems really bad when it comes to squatters and it can be insanely difficult to get someone out when they don’t pay the rent. Litteraly years in some cases and your bank will still ask for interest on the money you borrowed.

So landlords asks for the best and more solid candidates because they could quite literally lose their investment because someone took a place knowing very well they could just not pay and have no consequences.

A minority of people who can pay rent and choose not to are ruining rent opportunities for others with modest revenue but who actually are willing to pay their rent.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying oh the poor landlords or anything just trying to say how it works in Paris and in France for this market.

L’idée me plaît bien mais en effet la question de l’anonymat va être compliquée.

A vrai dire j’étais pas loin de me lancer pour entamer le dernier en parlant des jeux auxquels je joue actuellement et puis je sais pas j’ai été intimidé par le fait d’être le premier à commenter.

Je me dis que suggérer plus de thèmes même si ça ne me parle pas personnellement pourrait encourager de briser la glace un peu sur ce genre de topics.

Désolé si c’est vague et pas très constructif mais je continue de penser que ce genre de topics hebdomadaires peuvent facilement décoller et que c’est sûrement un peu comme moi juste un peu la peur de la page blanche quand on arrive dessus.

Really, I feel like people are way too indulgent with Nintendo.

That and the fact that all games are P2P hosted. Nintendo only takes money to allow you to host a game on your console. No other consoles do that as far as I know.

Steam will not ask for money to keep your save files on their cloud and they have been doing that since the inception of the service.

But anyway if people are ok with the value of this service, I guess to each their own. I’m just surprised people manage to find it a valuable service rather than a poor excuse to take a bit more money for services that Nintendo doesn’t really pay for in term of hosting.
