This explains all the sexy Sonic the Hedgehog fanart.

Only difference is instead of pie, it’s chili dogs.

Otherwise, Sonic technically checks all boxes.

EDIT: Just came across this. I rest my case:

https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/pictrs/image/917d3177-81a9-4907-81ee-48999459070d.jpeg

Sonic is in spot #6, two spots ahead of Mario and is one of two males in the Top 10.

SnotFlickerman,

Good ol Brian Huskey.

SnotFlickerman,

Oh no, are we gonna get some The Postman inspired games now, too?

SnotFlickerman,

Unless its a departure for the dev, likely a free to play / pay to win

SnotFlickerman,

But do they have a certificate to prove they are not Donkey Brained?

SnotFlickerman,

Someone was replaying Alan Wake.

…or just loves Harry Nilsson.

SnotFlickerman,

I mean, I do love me some Nilsson.

What is a term to describe expressing one's opinions with links and memes instead of words?

My views on things often differ from those in my social circle. I am often bombarded with article links and videos from people with no words of their own attached. It is very easy to send a link. It takes a bit of effort to form a coherent paragraph expressing a single thought....

SnotFlickerman,

I’m not sure what you would call them, but you wouldn’t call them “critical thinkers.”

Because a critical thinker would have their own thoughts about links they wanted to share. They would be willing to discuss why they thought a link was important, and the issues they thought it touched on.

People like this seem to live with very little skepticism. I read a lot of news sources where I feel I can trust them on certain issues and not on others. I can trust the New York Times on a lot of things, but I also know that they tend to cater to a more wealthy audience and that their foreign policy ideology clashes with my own. That doesn’t mean they only peddle warmongering class-war bullshit, although they do produce a lot of that. They do also produce a lot of solid, thoughtful reporting, but it still requires skepticism on my part in reading those articles and not just taking them as “gospel.”

A meme is too short and simple to really get into complex ideas, and as such, memes are good for sharing simple, accessible ideas, but very bad for sharing more complex themes. Once again, lack of skepticism and favoring simple ideas as opposed to understanding the complexity of the world requires more complex understanding of it.

SnotFlickerman,

I can think of plenty of words, but none of them are nice.

SnotFlickerman,

Different kind of DP came to mind.

SnotFlickerman,

You know what you’ve done.

SnotFlickerman,

“First lie they tell you is that I’m just a guy in a costume! I’m a genetic experiment gone wrong, babay!”

SnotFlickerman,

This guy is channeling the writer of Reefer Madness.

SnotFlickerman,

Beer is just liquid bread.

When you’re half dead and need to be fed: Liquid Bread!

SnotFlickerman,

SnotFlickerman,

If we’re talking nature, God has some really twisted ideas about sex and procreation in general.

Just ask bedbugs (“traumatic insemination”) or angler fish (“parasitic mating”).

SnotFlickerman,

I’ll stick with young Dolly Parton, thanks.

SnotFlickerman,

I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise.

If he plans on pulling a No Man’s Sky 2.0 by overhyping and then fixing in post, I can only hope he finds a gaming community far less receptive to his bullshit this time around.

SnotFlickerman,

Jake: “What kind of music do you usually have here?”

Bartender: “Oh, we got both kinds. We got cyber and punk.”

SnotFlickerman,

I thought a red nose was more of a sign of alcoholism? I mean if we’re making jokes about debilitating addictions…

SnotFlickerman,

I guess the Holocaust must not have been so bad then. /S

This fucking guy. How can you take his arguments seriously with clickbait bullshit like this?

SnotFlickerman,

All I see is a bowl of violent watery shits.

SnotFlickerman,

Or, a step further, since the original Beeper is a Matrix server with various open source messaging bridges slapped on it, with a fancy client interface… Why not just fucking use a Matrix server with those bridges set up? Or even set up your own Matrix server and iMessage bridge?

Beeper is literally paying people to set up open sources services for you. I’m not against this, it’s a good business model, but Beeper has obviously put the cart before the horse here.

SnotFlickerman,

read literally anything.

Instructions unclear, I’m halfway through reading Moby Dick and it seems humorless.

If only. Democrats are historically milquetoast in response to Republicans.

This charade has been going on for 40-some years or more. At least since the likes of Reagan and Gingrich.

  1. The court could go out of their way to rule on the case and make sure it only applied to Trump and only in this instance.
  2. Just because the Democrats are suddenly given power doesn’t mean they will use it to stop fascism. Sadly, too many in the Democratic party are invested in the US Empire to just let go of how things currently work. Their long inability to act is literally why we are at the precipice of fascism fully taking over. The Democrats fell in line with Bush’s illegal war in Iraq, and they declined to do anything about the fact that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld & Co. signed off on torture. We’re about to have Trump as a Dictator because we refused to do anything about leaders who were and are war criminals. People expecting Biden to do something, even if it is ruled in his favor, are waiting in false hope, imho.

EDIT: To be clear, I’d be ecstatic to be proven wrong, honestly. It would be nice to see Democrats really stand on the right side of history, not just partially or out of convenience.

SnotFlickerman,

Skinnamarinky dinky dink

Skinnamarinky doe

Make It So.

SnotFlickerman,

I’ll absolutely take Gonzo the Great as a Spock replacement. Goes full illogical.

SnotFlickerman,

The Pirates of the Carribean one is a close second for me.

SnotFlickerman,

I’m upset how good this is damn it. Thanks, I hate it.

SnotFlickerman,

No Altered Beast? They forgot the best!

SnotFlickerman,

I fully believe this conversation works better when it’s Data and Lore, with Lore taking the role of Dennis.

SnotFlickerman,

They can’t all be zingers.

You only truly miss the shots you don’t take.

SnotFlickerman,

Basically Lower Decks but with IASIP’s soundtrack.

SnotFlickerman,

Quark won’t accept any advertising in his bar except for his bar.

So Disney Channel rules, then? I remember in 2008 when I was visiting a friend and their kid sister was watching Disney, and after about an hour or so of it being on in the background while we hung out that I started to notice that the only things advertised on the Disney channel were all things owned and operated by Disney or a Disney subsidiary.

To my layman’s understanding (which is not good) it’s because of electronic resonance. In other words, how cables can give off/pick up radio waves.

In early radio, this was a problem with microphones picking up signal from radio transmissions, which obviously is unwanted when you’re trying to have people hear your voice, and not your voice mixed with competing radio signals.

From what I understand, when it comes to microphones, there is a “hot” a “ground” and a “cold”, and the cold is the same signal as the hot but inverted, and apparently this helps prevent picking up radio signals. It is called “balanced,” and I’m not sure why other than the inverted signals. So while it looks like a standard stereo cable with three connections, it’s apparently actually a standard microphone cable.

There’s a lot more radio/electric wizardry going on than that, but that’s my understanding of it, as a person who thinks Electricians are real life Wizards. This is based on some cursory internet research, so please anyone with more understanding correct me if I am wrong.

SnotFlickerman,

“Better” in terms of less radio interference? I suppose, probably.

I am not an audio engineer. It fascinates me, but most of it is beyond me.

Like how Apple used to be able to send video out of an iPod over a 1/8th connector, using the “sleeve” part as a 5th connector for video.

SnotFlickerman,

To do that, first you gotta get rid of Tim Sweeney.

GOG is at least not run by total shitheads like Epic.

SnotFlickerman,

But its not wednesday my dudes

SnotFlickerman,

This guy could write headlines for newspapers.
